At 5 o'clock in the morning, the first batch of passengers was already queuing at the window to go through customs clearance procedures, and they were about to leave for Russia by water passenger transport.
This is a scene that this reporter saw at the Fuyuan port in Heilongjiang Province on October 11.
Fuyuan Port is the easternmost port of the mainland, only 65 kilometers away from Khabarovsk, the largest city in the Far East of Russia, and is one of the important channels for Sino-Russian tourism and trade.
As a national first-class passenger and cargo port, Fuyuan Port was approved by the State Council in May 1992 and opened to the outside world in February 1993, and was recognized as an international passenger and cargo river port by the Chinese and Russian governments in January 1994.
According to the relevant person in charge of Fuyuan Port, with the implementation of the group visa-free policy, Chinese and Russian tourism teams can easily travel across borders without going through cumbersome visa procedures, which greatly shortens the travel time and reduces the travel cost.
According to reports, the passenger volume of Fuyuan Port is expected to exceed 50,000 passengers this year, a significant increase from about 28,000 passengers last year. Fuyuan Port has strengthened communication and coordination with relevant Russia agencies in connection with border inspection, maritime affairs, customs and other departments, optimized the customs clearance process, and improved customs clearance efficiency.
It is reported that the Sino-Russian land port in Fuyuan is also under planning and construction, and the opening of the Black Blind Island Highway Passenger Port has been approved by the State Council in March 2019, and the planning and design of the port construction has been started.
