The 388th batch of new products of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products" was released. Rado's all-new electric pickup truck, the RD5, has unveiled. A total of two new models were declared, one of which had a "Radar RD5" logo on the rear and the other on the rear with a "Radar RD5 4WD" logo. This indicates that the Radar RD5 will be available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive models.
So judging from the product number, perhaps the positioning of RD5 is lower than that of RD6. At the same time, the power of the motor has been reduced, can it be inferred that the price of the radar RD5 will be lower than that of the RD6? If so, the radar electric pickup truck is really red-eyed, entering the hot sales territory of traditional fuel pickups, or will pass through the spell of the pickup market. So how will fuel pickup trucks respond?
The single-motor two-wheel drive version is equipped with a TZ190XY105 motor with a maximum power of 180 kW and is produced by Suzhou Inovance United Power System Co., Ltd. The rear motor of the dual-motor four-wheel drive version is the same as the one above, and a front motor is added, model TZ180XS130, with a maximum power of 100 kilowatts, which is also produced by Suzhou Inovance United Power System Co., Ltd.
The radar is already on the RD6 and Horizon, with a maximum power of 110 kW and 200 kW for the front and rear motors. In contrast, the new RD5 is down 10 kW and 20 kW, respectively. Electric pickup trucks are far ahead of gasoline pickups in terms of maximum power, so even the maximum power of new models is still in a very affluent state. However, the cost is expected to be further reduced, which in turn will further loosen the pricing space of new vehicles.
The body size of the radar RD5 is 5260 (length) * 1900 (width) * 1880/1830/1865 (height) mm, the wheelbase is 3120mm, and the cargo box size is 1525 (length) * 1450 (width) * 540 (height) mm. Comparing the RD6 and the horizon, the dimensions are exactly the same. This shows that the body size of the radar RD5 is not shrinking at all.
The radar RD5 single-motor version has a total mass of 3085KG and a rated load weight of 790KG. THE TOTAL MASS OF THE DUAL-MOTOR VERSION IS 3325KG, AND THE RATED LOAD WEIGHT REACHES 910KG. The tire specification of the vehicle is unified to 235/65 R17. The approach and departure angles of the single-motor version are 20/24 and 22/25 degrees. The approach and departure angles of the dual-motor version are 23/26 degrees.
Both new models are equipped with lithium-ion iron phosphate batteries. The new model can be equipped with front and rear combination lights, pedals, rims, door trims, luggage racks, door handles, guard plates, body trim, rope hooks, roll cages, cargo compartment lights (only used during operation), ETC on-board devices, etc.

However, for pickup truck users, its price sensitivity is extremely high, and the main sales range has been concentrated around 120,000 yuan. This time, the radar pickup truck once again declared the new model RD5 series, from the configuration point of view, there may be reservations in motor power and mileage, thereby leaving more room for subsequent pricing.
