Recently, the Department of Urology of Renji Hospital Jiading Branch (Jiading District Central Hospital) relied on the construction of the "Renji-Jiading" close medical alliance to use ultra-fine channel percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (UMP) to remove all stones for a patient with complex urinary stones at one time.
Ms. Wu, who lives in Malu, recently came to the Urology Department of the hospital due to low back discomfort, and the examination report showed that Ms. Wu had a calyceal stone under her nephroscope. The attending physician, Yin Yi, told Ms. Wu that the lower calyces are located in the lower part of the kidney, which makes the stones easy to stay and difficult to discharge, and surgical stone removal is required, but Ms. Wu is worried about the slow recovery from the operation and has been hesitant.
The ultra-fine percutaneous nephroscopic UMP, the nephroscopy equipment newly introduced by the District Central Hospital from Renji Hospital, not only has less trauma, less bleeding and faster recovery, but also has a stone removal rate that is not lower than that of traditional nephroscopic surgery. When she learned that the surgical incision was only 4 mm, "about the size of a grain of rice", Ms. Wu gladly accepted the suggestion.
After hospitalization, the hospital performed UMP surgery for Ms. Wu, and the operation went smoothly, and no residual stones were found on the X-ray after the operation.
Comparison before and after surgery
Dong Baijun, executive director of the Department of Urology, said that compared with traditional percutaneous nephroscopic surgery, UMP has the advantage of being a skin incision length of only 4 mm, which is like a large syringe inserted into the skin, and there is no need for sutures after surgery, which minimizes kidney damage and bleeding. In addition, the traditional percutaneous nephroscopy requires indwelling nephrostomy tube, D-J catheter and urinary catheter, and needs to be removed again after a few weeks, while Ms. Wu only has an indwelling ureteral catheter and urinary catheter after UMP, which can be removed after 2 days without coming to the hospital again.
Today, when the comprehensive minimally invasive treatment of urinary tract stones has been realized, UMP once again provides a new option for urolithiasis patients. At present, under the guidance of Renji experts, the Department of Urology of Jiading District Central Hospital has successfully carried out a number of key technologies, and has accumulated valuable clinical experience and technical strength in minimally invasive surgery for urological tumors, comprehensive treatment of complex urinary tract stones, laser treatment of prostatic hyperplasia, etc., and has continuously improved its medical technology and service capabilities, so that citizens can enjoy high-quality medical services at the door of "Jia".
