It is reported that in recent days, various circles in Thailand have continued to call for the Thai government to promote the review of the "Amnesty Law", but it has been postponed many times due to many factors. On October 16, Pheu Thai Party spokesman Mr. Danupong gave an interview to the media about the matter to be submitted to the House of Commons for discussion at the parliamentary session on October 17.
Danupong said he was not sure whether it would be postponed again because Thailand's Minister of State at the party meeting on the 15th of this month, Mr. Chusa, said it would be presented in Parliament, but it would need to be communicated with the coalition parties first. Because of the controversial content of the Amnesty Law, namely whether it includes Article 112 of the Penal Code (lese majestic), the matter has caused dissatisfaction among some coalition parties, including within the Pheu Thai Party.
It is understood that among the coalition parties of the Thai government, the proud party of Anutin, deputy prime minister and minister of the interior of Thailand, and the Democratic Party led by Chanengchai, minister of natural resources and environment of Thailand, have made it very clear that they will never agree to include Article 112 in the "Amnesty Law." In response to external pressure and differences within the coalition parties, Thailand Prime Minister Petuntan said that the coalition parties will be invited to dinner on the 21st of this month, and will look for opportunities to discuss the matter.
