author:Bright Net

Recently, in the White Dragon Spring in the Scenic Area of Lishan Cave in Fengyang County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, a group of crystal clear peach blossom jellyfish appeared, just like peach blossoms scattered in the water, light and ethereal, shrinking in the water, swimming leisurely.

It is understood that the peach blossom jellyfish, also known as "peach blossom fish" and "parachute fish", its whole body is transparent, like a small umbrella, headless and tailless round, the body is surrounded by tentacles, and there are five tentacle-like objects in the middle of the peach blossom-shaped distribution, which is a kind of endangered, ancient and rare coelenterate.

It is understood that the peach blossom jellyfish has extremely high requirements for the living environment, and the living body is very rare, only living in a clean water environment, and the subtle changes in the surrounding environment will cause it to disappear. This is the second time since 2007 that peach blossom jellyfish has been found in the waters of Fengyang County. The emergence of the "peach blossom jellyfish", which is extremely picky and demanding about the living environment, also proves the achievements of local protection of the water quality environment and ecological environment in recent years.

In zoology, the world's first record of peach blossom jellyfish was in 1880, the specimen was collected from London, England, and named Sotheon's peach blossom jellyfish. In China, there are very few places where peach blossom jellyfish can be seen, and this rare species is on the verge of extinction. At present, 3 species of peach blossom jellyfish distributed in China have been listed as critically endangered species in the national red list of endangered animals, and 5 species have been listed as endangered species, so peach blossom jellyfish is also known as "giant panda in the water". It records the development of life on Earth in a unique form of life. (CCTV reporter Ren Zhen)
