The use of "brilliant people, talents" to describe the talent and literary atmosphere of Hengjie is appropriate, and Wu Zhizhen, the representative figure of the Zhejiang school of poets in the early Qing Dynasty, once left a pen and ink mark here.
No. 128 Xiheng Street used to have Shouyu Hall, where Wu Zhizhen once lived. Wu Zhizhen, the character Mengju, the old man of Huangye, was originally a Zhouquan person, Qing Shunzhi for ten years, took the Xiucai, and later purchased Shouyutang from the foreign family Laoshi, loved its old name, so did not change the name of the church, that is, moved from Zhouquan to Chongfu.
At that time, Shouyu Hall was the largest ancient hall in Chongyi, which can be found in the "Genealogy of the Wu Clan of Zhouquan" written by Wu Xuejun. In Volume IV, it is recorded: "Shou Yu Tang, Orange Zhai Mansion, inside the West Gate of Shimen, the fifth entrance of Xiheng Street, the bridge of the river frame wood, the back door through the street, directly facing Wuguifang Lane, there is Lan Qing Hall, left yu lun hall, right side orange zhai library, ordinary building, adjacent to the Ancient Hall, there are also five jin ..."
With historical materials, imagining what it looked like at that time, you can not only feel the glory of the ancient mansion, but also feel the poetry of Wu Zhizhenyang. Although some of them no longer exist. At that house number on The Street, that place, I only saw a tin door that was completely different from the old one, but its sedimentation still covered up the worldliness of chai rice oil salt sauce vinegar tea.
It is understood that Shouyu hall experienced many ups and downs, and during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Japanese Kou used to keep horses in captivity in the hall. After liberation, it was once converted into a workers' club, etc., and the gatehouse, car hall and hundred table hall have now been demolished and converted into housing, and the houdailou hall and the Yulun Hall on the east side still exist.
