Although Haynes' itinerary in the Inter-Korean Demilitarized Zone has not been announced, it is expected that he will visit the Panmunjom Common Garrison Zone (JSA) on the inter-Korean border. It has been learned that The ROK and the United States are coordinating the schedule of haynes' visit to President Moon Jae-in during his visit to south Korea and the meeting schedule with Xu Xuan, director of the National Security Office. The two sides may exchange views on the Biden administration's new policy toward north Korea and discuss the current situation on the Korean Peninsula.

According to the report, some analysts said that in addition to briefing the ROK side on the Biden administration's policy toward the DPRK, Haynes' current visit to the ROK will also accurately grasp the situation on the Korean Peninsula, including the DPRK's movements, highlight the cooperative relations between the ROK, the United States, and Japan, and make it clear that the US side will not put the DPRK nuclear issue in a secondary position.

Yonhap News Agency said that Haynes held talks with Kitamura, director of japan's national security bureau, in Tokyo on 11 November, and held talks with park ji-won, president of the ROK National Intelligence Agency, and Hiroaki Takizawa, an intelligence officer in the Japanese cabinet, and immediately set off to visit South Korea.
