Yao Wenjun, male, 77 years old, honorary principal of Renmin Avenue Primary School in Anyang City
After more than 50 years of hard work, he has grown into an expert with outstanding contributions to the country, an advanced worker in moral education in the country, and the first batch of outstanding principals in the country;
He served as the principal of Renmin Avenue Primary School in Anyang City for more than 20 years, compiled the first "Outline of Ideological and Moral Education for Children and Teenagers" in New China, and worked with Beijing Normal University to explore the "main education", one of the six successful models of quality education in China;
He has served as the "head" of the Primary Education Professional Committee of the China Education Association for nearly 30 years, providing a solid and broad platform for the emergence of successful models of quality education such as "happy education" and "difference education".
He is Yao Wenjun, who is known as a "grassroots educator". In his ideology, "Modernization needs both officials and families, and I am willing to be the latter." I don't have great ambitions in life, so I want to be a principal and run a school well." Therefore, he refused many opportunities to "high" in the province and city, and has been working hard in the field of education.
On June 1, 1978, Yao Wenjun was appointed as the principal of Anyang People's Avenue Primary School and the general secretary of the party branch. Since then, the name "Yao Wenjun" has been closely linked to the People's Avenue Primary School in Anyang City.
In 1979, Yao Wenjun took the lead in compiling and implementing the "Outline of Ideological and Moral Education for Children and Teenagers" in the country, which blew up a "whirlwind of avenues" in China's basic education circles, making Anyang Renmin Avenue Primary School a banner on the national moral education front of primary schools. In 1982, the State Education Commission promulgated the "Syllabus for Ideological and Moral Character Classes in Full-time Five-Year Primary Schools (Trial Draft)" formulated with the participation of Yao Wenjun. In 1984, when Comrade Hu Jintao, then secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, inspected the Renmin Avenue Primary School in Anyang City, he praised Yao Wenjun as "an expert who has contributed to 200 million young people across the country." On Teachers' Day in 1993, Yao Wenjun and 21 other primary and secondary school principals were awarded the title of the first batch of "National Excellent Principals". In 2008, Yao Wenjun was selected as one of the 10 grassroots representative figures that henan's basic education front cannot forget in the 30 years of reform and opening up.
In 1992, Yao Wenjun creatively proposed the topic of "Experimental Research on the Subjective Development of Children and Adolescents". In 1997, the experiment won the first prize for outstanding achievements in the National Experimental Research Project of Basic Education Reform. In 1999, the China Education Society promoted "subject education" as one of the six successful models of quality education to the whole country.
At the beginning of 2001, Yao Wenjun, who had just retired from the position of principal of Renmin Avenue Primary School in Anyang City, resolutely went south to Shenzhen and became the principal of Fuyuan Education City. After several years of hard work, Fuyuan School has become one of the "Top Ten Private Schools in Guangdong Province", and Yao Wenjun has also been selected as the "Son of the Special Zone".
In February 2004, Yao Wenjun was hired as the honorary principal of Anyang People's Avenue Primary School for life. Anyang Renmin Avenue Primary School is also under the leadership of the current principal Ma Lina, after a short period of adjustment, is striding towards a new goal.
In 2006, Yao Wenjun was specially hired as the chief education general consultant and director of the Institute of Education and Science in Yindu District, Anyang City. He integrated the idea of "subject education" with the theory of "multiple intelligences", creatively put forward the idea of "subject pluralism" education, and conducted regional experiments from point to surface in Yindu District. In 2007, Yindu District was established as a "National Education Reform Experimental Zone" by the China Education Society.
In 2011, in order to do a good job in the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage on campus, the China Literature and Art Foundation specially established the "Intangible Cultural Heritage Campus Inheritance Fund", and Yao Wenjun was hired as the executive vice president. Since assuming this position, he has also led teachers and students abroad to the United Nations Building in New York, the Golden Hall in Vienna, Austria, the Sydney Opera House in Australia... In August of the same year, the Education Times reported on Yao Wenjun's deeds under the title "Grassroots Educator Yao Wenjun".
On June 9, 2017, Yao Wenjun made a keynote report on "A Cross-century Education Experiment" at the 9th Henan Education Business Card Development Forum and the Observation Seminar on "Subject Education and Teacher-Student Development", which gave great inspiration to the participating teachers. On November 29, 2017, Yao Wenjun was selected as one of the 90 contemporary education masters jointly selected by the China Education Association, China Education Newspaper and Periodicals, and the People's Education Publishing House.
