Since 2017, the Youth League Municipal Committee has held an essay contest and speech contest for young members of the Shanghai League to learn Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era for five consecutive years. In March this year, the Youth League Municipal Committee launched the "Study Party History, Strengthen Faith, Follow the Party" Shanghai Youth Speech and Shanghai Youth League Members to Learn Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era Theme Essay and Speech Contest.
After 6 months of selection, the municipal league organizations recommended more than 130 contestants to the municipal committee of the youth league, and after the preliminary examination and preliminary competition, 15 players were shortlisted for the finals. Among these players are young students who are young to the party and have the ambition to serve the country with great ambitions; there are grass-roots public servants who are unswerving and deeply cultivate front-line services; there are young people with lofty aspirations who pursue their dreams and design large domestic aircraft; there are Young Pioneers who "listen to the party and follow the party" and establish ideals and beliefs from an early age.
Wen Yan Lida of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts tells a story about "inheritance". During the Qingming Festival, his father took him to the martyr's tomb in Tongziwan, Dazhu County, Sichuan, and Wen Yanlida received a copy of the history of the Dazhu Party, which recorded the story of a hero named Zhang Weizhu.
From April 1928, Zhang Weizhu was the secretary of the second Special Branch of the Communist Party of China in Dazhu County, working hard for the reconstruction and development of the Party branch until 1931. He was arrested and imprisoned during a search by the Kuomintang reactionaries. After being imprisoned in Linshui Prison, enemies who wanted to obtain information threatened and seduced him and tortured him severely, but he never said a word. The cage of iron windows locked the body of the revolutionary, but it could not close the heart of the revolutionary. In prison, he began teaching his fellow inmates to sing the International Anthem and spread communist ideas. From Zhang Weizhu one person, to two people and three people, to ten people and twenty people...
In 1933, the Red Fourth Front was about to arrive at Linshui Prison, and when the enemy heard the news, he feared that Zhang Weizhu would be released from prison, so he urgently ordered Zhang Weizhu to be killed immediately. Eventually he fell into that dark prison, but his faith and strong warrior will be passed on forever.
That man was Wen Yanlida's great-grandfather. Before his death, Zhang Weizhu left a family letter, just telling his family not to feel sorry for him.
From his great-grandfather's story, Wen Yanlida felt that there were too many heroes like sparks in the past. They illuminate the way forward and see the country of their dreams. "I want to be like them, I want to be them. Do it, the spark of the times. ”
In the final selection of this competition, 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes and 7 third prizes were selected. Another 15 finalists won the prize.
