Do you remember how you spent your summer vacations as a kid?

Tonight I saw a movie, "Winter Vacation" by Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien, which reminds me of my childhood.

My family is rural, I have been in our town when I was a child, going to school to go to the primary school in a neighboring village, going home during the holidays, alone at home with nothing to do, I ran to the village to play, sometimes I turned over the rocks in the river to catch crabs, sometimes I went around picking up scraps, sometimes I went to other people's orchards to steal food, and now in retrospect, childhood is still quite interesting.

In the movie, Dong Dong takes a train to his grandfather's house in the countryside, his mother is hospitalized for surgery, and Dong Dong's parents send their children to the countryside, away from some things that should not be undertaken. I remember when I was a child, my family was hospitalized, and my grandmother came to my house to cook for me, and during that time my playmate was a sheep, and I took it out every day, and I watched the scenery and it grazed, in that isolated village. I hadn't seen a train until I was in college, and I saw a real train for the first time and got on it. I have never seen a train and there is nothing, and the terrible thing is that people have desires. Since I started taking the train, I have had many thoughts, I never want to go home again, after so many years, I still can't find the peace of mind I once had.
