Since everything here is so free and unrestrained, and the primordial power is exerted to the extreme, the nuns need to remain rational and resist the temptations of the world, as can be seen in the contrast between Kanchi's free and free style and the nuns' restraint.
And these opposites are conveyed through different media opposites.
For example, in winter, when you need to grow grain on the terrace, Philippa grows flowers. Grain is the most basic need for human survival, and flowers are dispensable beyond need—the church will choose grain. So Philippa suddenly realized that she was very remorseful and asked to go back to Darjeeling, where she felt that her mind was disturbed.
The opposition of color delicately and beautifully conveys the opposition between earthly religious beliefs and colorful secular life.
The nuns were all dressed in white, wearing white veils before going up the mountain, shining dazzling against the blue sky and white clouds. After going up the mountain, they went to work, and the white nuns' clothes soon became dusty and gradually turned grayish white and yellow-gray, which is a good hint that they are on the edge of religion and secularism. There is also a contrast of more details - the hair of the nuns.
