Liuyang citizens complained: "sodium tripolyphosphate" additive was found in the hand-torn crab willow! Here comes the reply

Mr. Li, a citizen of Liuyang, reflected: I purchased hand-torn crab fillet in the supermarket and found that I added sodium tripolyphosphate additives, which did not meet the national food safety standards.

Changsha 12345 Government Affairs Hotline Center replied:

After the public reflected, our center immediately fed the problem back to the Liuyang Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau, and the department replied: The company provided the inspection report and the ingredient record table of the food, proving that the food did not add "sodium tripolyphosphate" food additives. At the same time, the company explained that because the main ingredient of the food raw material is surimi, and the frozen surimi products have added "sodium tripolyphosphate", according to the "Food Additive Consumption Standards", surimi is allowed to add a limited amount of "sodium tripolyphosphate" food additives. Therefore, the "hand-torn crab stick" food label produced by the company is marked with "sodium tripolyphosphate" food additive, which is a food additive added according to the belt-in principle stipulated in 3.4 of the "Food Additive Consumption Standard".

Our center returned to Mr. Li and said that he contacted him for an explanation, and the two sides reached a settlement and were satisfied with the department's reply.
