Madagascar seaweed swayed on the ocean floor, and the fourth CIIE, 9,000 kilometers away, "added" a new skin cream with seaweed elements.
A plant of seaweed outlines the "whole industry chain map" of the global grain merchant Cargill. For this company with a history of 156 years, doing the whole industry chain will make itself more possible.
It is hard to imagine that walking into Cargill's 500-square-meter exhibition area, occupying the "c position" is actually a skin care cream. On the island of Madagascar, Cargill has partnered with local farmers to grow large quantities of red seaweed. Once harvested, the red seaweed is transported to a factory in France, where workers use a gentle and environmentally friendly method to extract crumpled carragee from the red seaweed. This extract of natural dextran and sulfate provides thickening and styling, and when used in skincare products, it produces a popular skincare cream.
A seaweed plant is quenched into a skin care product, and a cocoa tree can also be used. Farmers on the island of Madagascar separate the cocoa skin and flesh, and French factories extract cocoa esters from cocoa as an ingredient in emollients in care products. The resulting cream has a light texture that effectively eliminates redness and swelling.
Pure natural, healthy skin care products undoubtedly cut to the current consumer's pursuit of quality life. "Extracting essences from plants is safer and more secure, and maximizing the function of food raw materials." Luo Yuchen, head of Cargill Bio-Industry, introduced that this year is the first time that enterprises have come to the Expo with "non-agricultural products and food", and both skin care products are the first in China.
It has been 50 years since entering the Chinese market, and Cargill also has a more far-reaching consideration - the layout of the "whole industry chain territory". At the booth of this year's Expo, a model filled with green liquid attracted the attention of many visitors. With Cargill vegetable oil on one side and a transformer model filled with vegetable oil on the other, this is Cargill's new application in the industrial field. Vegetable oil, which was originally used for food, was further purified and derived as a basic stock solution, so as to make a natural ester insulating liquid for power transformers. Luo Yuchen introduced that this insulating fluid can replace non-renewable fossil raw material products, and the use of 1 ton can reduce carbon emissions by about 1.2 tons compared with the past. If a transformer leaks, the insulating fluid can be biodegraded quickly without placing an additional burden on the environment. "We are like a bulk 'gathering station', not only can do food deep processing, but also extend the tentacles farther."
Of course, as a "veteran" grain merchant, Cargill still has to strengthen grain production and food in all directions at the Expo. The company brought phytophytoside "cod" willow, golden crispy meat, clearly squeezed oil rich in unsaturated fatty acids, and functional snacks... "Eat, drink and have fun" can be satisfied. Participating in four consecutive CIIE sessions, Cargill also hopes to enter the Chinese market more fully and realize the dream of the whole industry chain in China.
