Zhao Zong: Ten years of practice and the pursuit of excellence

Time goes on, build dreams and move forward. Fast forward to the end of 2020, which is also my tenth year of working at Binzhou Media Group. In the past ten years, I have felt responsibility in hard work, watched over morality under the brushstrokes, and recorded changes in the lens. Looking back, how much wind and rain, how much sweat, how many difficulties and dangers, all turned into a little thought appeared in the mind. Pulitzer, a famous American journalist, famously said: "If a country is a ship sailing on the sea, the journalist is the watcher of the bow of the ship." He wants to observe everything on the endless surface of the sea, examine the unpredictable wind and shoal reefs on the sea, and issue timely warnings. "It also carries a heavy responsibility beyond our own age. In the ten years of current political news reporting practice, recording history and writing the truth have become my professional requirements; the pursuit of excellence and sincere face are the motto of my career.

"Don't forget why you went too far." As far as I'm concerned, the real understanding of what the profession of journalist means is after work. Looking back on my ten years as a journalist, I remember the interview process and the report on the sudden outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic at the beginning of the year, which is also a major report I have experienced since I started my career.

On the second day of the first lunar month, the holiday is cancelled, all staff are on duty, and from this day on, whether it is day or night, they are on standby at any time. Take the initiative to ask for help, go to Binzhou Central Hospital to interview and report on the discharge of the first cured patient in Binzhou, and launch two series of reports: "The Story Behind the First Cured Patient: The Speed of Life and Death" and "The Story Behind the First Cured Patient: Spare No Effort". On the night of the Lantern Festival, he went to the joint epidemic prevention checkpoint to interview the front-line staff. The temperature plummeted, and the wind and rain greeted the front-line duty personnel. The epidemic situation has been controlled in stages, and factories and enterprises have been interviewed and resumed work. Medical staff, public security, transportation, electric power and other departments of staff charged ahead, their determination to fight the "epidemic", courage, and perseverance, let me, the "recorder" leave tears at the same time, but also think of the responsibility on my shoulders: that is, the responsibility to rush to the front, use my lens to record touching moments, touching stories, and carry forward positive energy. A battle, tempered themselves, enhanced their foot, eye, brain, pen strength, the words in the pen are more vivid, more vitality, the characters in front of the camera are more vivid and more moving.

Ten years is long and short, as a journalist, even if you have just found a little way forward, the world is ever-changing, and you can feel a little doorway is considered to be good; ten years is short and long, and walking through a section of road and meeting an individual is enough to make a fledgling young man become a news warrior who has passed the age of standing and has experienced hundreds of battles. In the past ten years, I have also received many honors: I have been commended by the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government as an advanced individual in the comprehensive improvement of the rural environment in the city; commended by the Provincial Party Committee and The Provincial Government as an advanced individual in fighting typhoons and disaster relief; and awarded the Binzhou May Day Labor Medal by the Binzhou Federation of Trade Unions. I know that these honors are both encouragement and encouragement.

After 10 years of ups and downs, I have gone from the first moment I wanted to escape to now doing this job with ease and gladness. It is not the accumulation of time that makes me calm and calm, but because I know that I am engaged in a profession that requires a sense of responsibility, it is certainly a valuable profession--- active among the people, shuttles between all the social conditions, spreads the voice of the party, reflects the people's livelihood and public opinion, catches the news "live fish", uses what I see, hear, think, and feel, record every footprint of Binzhou's development, write Binzhou's glory and dreams, and outline a colorful picture that will never fade.

I am very grateful for this profession, which has given me more opportunities and platforms to reach out to all kinds of respectable people, and it is the upward and good faith in each of them that drives the society forward and encourages my growth.
