The Xiamen University Education Development Foundation released a message today that on the evening of February 17, they received a call from an old teacher, who said that the epidemic in Hubei made him worried and hoped to donate 100,000 yuan to help Wuhan fight the "epidemic".

However, considering that the epidemic situation has not yet been lifted, it is not appropriate to let the 93-year-old academician go out, the foundation contacted the college for the first time, communicated with the bank, and decided to provide door-to-door service. Yesterday, all parties went to Tian Zhaowu's home and jointly handled the donation.
The teacher of the foundation said that after donating 100,000 yuan, Tian Zhaowu repeatedly instructed him to donate money and talk about his heart, and there was no need to publicize it.
This is not the first time that Mr. Tian Zhaowu has donated charity
In 2009, he initiated and donated funds to establish the "Tian Zhaowu Interdisciplinary Fund" of Xiamen University to encourage scientific research innovation and interdisciplinary research. In 2017, the "Tian Zhaowu Education Development Fund" was established to award the "Qinghan Scholarship" to the whole school every year to reward students with excellent character and academic qualities and poor families.
Every year before the Spring Festival, Tian Zhaowu would go to the bank across the road from the school to withdraw some money, entrust the college to give it to poor students, and not let him say who gave it. The mystery was only lifted a few years after the anonymous donation.
