The New York Times reported that Chinese figure skater Kwan ying shan has joined Hillary Clinton's campaign and will work at campaign headquarters in Brooklyn, New York, along with other campaign aides, to spend her main energy on attracting voters from working families. The US media believes that the addition of Guan Yingshan can make the Hillary team have a little "star flavor".
Born in 1980 in Torrance, Los Angeles County, California, Guan Yingshan is the third son of her father, Kwan Wai-tong, and her mother, Kwan, Liu Shuyi, who immigrated to the United States from Hong Kong.
Kwan, who has been practicing figure skating since childhood, has won 9 U.S. Figure Skating Championships and 5 World Figure Skating Championships, as well as 2 Winter Olympic medals. She has remained competitive for more than a decade and is the best figure skater in American history, known as the "Queen of Figure Skating". Her figure skating characteristics are known for their elegance, stability and artistic expression, which has great inspirational significance for later figure skating masters such as Kim Yeon-er and Asada Masayoshi. Kwan is considered one of the greatest figure skaters in history.
After retiring in 2006, she chose to transfer to the University of Denver to study political science and international relations, and then continued to study public diplomacy, and was appointed as a public diplomacy ambassador by former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.
In 2013, Kwan married Former White House National Security Council member Cray Pell. After the new marriage, Guan Yingshan's "position" changed, she helped her husband Pell announce his candidacy for governor of Rhode Island, using his starlight and mature diplomatic charm to attract votes, but unfortunately, the young Pell failed to run successfully due to lack of seniority. However, this failed experience still makes the Hillary team value, and this successful entry into the campaign team also indicates that Guan Yingshan has opened the road to politics.
