The prototype of the railway guerrilla "Liu Hong" is the two captains of the famous railway line

The broadcast of the movie "Railway Guerrillas" and the story of the heroic killing of the enemy by the railway guerrillas who were active in the Lunan area of Shandong during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression are almost well known. Liu Hong, the leader of the railway guerrilla brigade, naturally became an anti-Japanese hero in people's minds. In fact, the railway guerrilla "Liu Hong" really has this person, he is the artistic image synthesis of the deeds of the two captains on the railway line, and their real names are Hong Zhenhai and Liu Jinshan.

Hong Zhenhai, born in 1910 in Tengzhou, Shandong, was born into a poor carpenter family. He made a living with his father in the mines since childhood, because of the pressure of life, he often dealt with trains, and when he was a teenager, he often helped train drivers to do some work, thus learning train driving skills and practicing the ability to fly on trains.

At the beginning of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Hong Zhenhai followed Wang Fugen, an underground member of the Communist Party of China, to join the Lunan Anti-Japanese Volunteer Brigade. Because Hong Zhenhai fought bravely, he was soon promoted to squad leader and platoon leader, becoming the backbone of the team. Subsequently, Hong Zhenhai served as the head of the intelligence station, and he timely and accurately reconnoitred the Japanese army's troop deployment, logistics supply, material transportation and other information along the railway line, and sent it to the volunteer team headquarters.

On January 25, 1940, the Eighth Route Army established the Lunan Railway Guerrilla Group, with Hong Zhenhai as its leader. Under the leadership of Hong Zhenhai and others, this railway guerrilla force was active on the thousand-mile railway line, attacking the enemy in a mysterious way; they picked up railroad tracks, blew up bridges, crashed trains, intercepted materials, killed devils, punished traitors, protected the masses, and protected their hometowns, thus becoming an anti-Japanese heroic unit with great prestige and intimidation.

In December 1941, the guerrilla attack led by Hong Zhenhai was surrounded by more than 1,000 Japanese and puppets in Huangbu Village, and when he was covering for the team, he was unfortunately hit by the enemy and shot and killed, at the age of 32.

Liu Jinshan, who succeeded Hong Zhenhai as the leader of the railway guerrillas, was born into a miner's family in Caizhuang Village, Zaozhuang, Shandong Province. Both of his parents died at an early age. In September 1940, he joined the Railway Brigade. In the railway team, Liu Jinshan touched the sentry to kill the enemy, was heroic and witty, performed outstanding, and repeatedly made military achievements, from a correspondent to a group leader and a detachment leader, and joined the Communist Party of China in January 1941.

In May 1942, Liu Jinshan succeeded Hong Zhenhai as the leader of the railway guerrilla brigade. Since then, he has cooperated with six political commissars successively, leading the railway team members to intercept trains, fight devils, save the masses, hoe traitors, and send cadres, experiencing more than a hundred large and small battles, eliminating a large number of Japanese puppet troops, and also sending hundreds of combat backbones to the main force.

After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Lunan Railway Brigade collectively "changed careers." In the early spring of 1946, the number of the Lunan Railway Brigade was revoked, and the "Lunan Railway Bureau" was established on the basis of the original brigade, with Liu Jinshan, the former captain of the brigade, as deputy director. At the end of August, the Lunan Military Region mobilized some backbones of the former Lunan Railway Brigade and re-established the Lunan Railway Brigade, and Liu Jinshan once again served as the captain of the brigade.

In November 1946, the number of the Lunan Railway Brigade was cancelled again, and it was merged with the Zaozhuang Workers' Detachment to form the Special Service Regiment of the Lunan Military Region, with Liu Jinshan as the deputy regimental commander. In July 1948, the Special Task Force Regiment of the Lunan Military Region was reorganized into the 139th Regiment of the 47th Division of the Luzhong South Column, with Liu Jinshan as the deputy regimental commander and regimental commander. This reorganization actually changed the "railway guerrillas" into a field army. Subsequently, this regiment participated in the Battle of Huaihai, the Battle of Crossing the River, and the Battle of Zhejiang Bandits.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu Jinshan successively served as the commander of the 35th Army 3O 7th Regiment, the chief of staff of the Jinhua Military Subdistrict in Zhejiang, the chief of staff of the 10th O 5th Division, the chief of staff of the 17th Public Security Division, and the commander of the Suzhou Military Subdistrict. In 1996, Liu Jinshan died of illness and was buried in the Linshan Railway Guerrilla Memorial Park in Xuecheng District, Zaozhuang City.
