According to the latest report released by trendforce, the top ten IC designers in the world reached a total revenue of $33.7 billion in the third quarter, an annual increase of 45%.
From the perspective of manufacturer rankings, Qualcomm ranked first with revenue of $7.7 billion, an annual increase of 56%. Jibang Consulting pointed out that the reason for the company's significant revenue growth is that the huge demand for 5G mobile phones from major mobile phone manufacturers contributed to the revenue of Qualcomm processors and RF RF front-end divisions, while the Internet of Things division benefited from strong demand in consumer electronics, edge networks and industrial sectors, with revenue increasing by 66% year-on-year.
Nvidia ranked second with revenue of $6.6 billion, up 55% year-on-year, and it was still driven by gaming graphics and data center revenue, with revenue growth rates of 53% and 48%, respectively.
In third place was Broadcom, with revenue of $5.4 billion, up 17% year-over-year. Jibang Consulting pointed out that broadcom's revenue mainly comes from network chips, broadband communication chips and storage and bridging chip business, which is driven by the mixed working system in the post-epidemic era and the acceleration of enterprises to the cloud, making its chip demand increase.
In terms of Taiwan manufacturers, four of the world's top ten IC design manufacturers occupy the seats, namely MediaTek, Lianyong, Realtek and Miracle Photoelectric.
