Gansu Province's 2021 National Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Inheritors Record Work Training Course was held in Lanzhou

In order to further strengthen the capacity building of intangible cultural heritage protection workers and solidly promote the recording of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Gansu Province, on January 5, 2022, the 2021 Gansu Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Inheritors Recording Training Course hosted by the Gansu Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center was successfully opened in Lanzhou City. Tian Miao, deputy director of the Chinese Memory Project Center of the National Library of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

At the opening ceremony, Tian Miao highly affirmed and recognized the completion of the recording of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Gansu Province in recent years. He stressed that the inheritors are the key to the living inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, and the recording work is carried out for the inheritors, and the inheritors' profound understanding of traditional culture and the exquisite skills they have mastered in the practice of inheritance are comprehensively, truthfully and systematically recorded through digital multimedia means, providing valuable materials for future generations to inherit, research, publicize and use intangible cultural heritage, which is of great significance for better inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

The person in charge of the Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center gave a detailed introduction to the development of the record project of representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage in Gansu Province, and put forward three suggestions and hopes for the training course. The first is to fully understand the importance of the recording project and enhance the sense of mission and initiative of doing a good job in recording work. The second is to cherish the hard-won learning opportunities and improve the skills and level of doing a good job of recording work. The third is to strengthen safety management and service guarantees to ensure the success of the training course.

Since the implementation of the record of representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage in Gansu Province in 2015, the recording of 32 inheritors has been completed, and all the record results have passed the acceptance. According to the acceptance results released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the record results of 6 national representative inheritors in Gansu Province were determined to be "excellent", with an excellent rate of 15%, ranking second among all provinces in the country, and were praised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; relevant review films were repeatedly broadcast and exchanged by the state and provinces; and some academic commissioners were also recognized by national review experts.

The training course invited relevant experts from the Chinese Memory Project Center of the National Library of China, the Center for the Development of Chinese Ethnic Folk Art and other relevant experts to give lectures, and arranged academic salons, experience sharing and other activities. In the next step, the Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center will, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and under the guidance of the National Library, comprehensively promote the recording of representative projects and representative inheritors of intangible cultural heritage at the national and provincial levels, continuously improve the professional ability of project leaders, academic commissioners and recording teams, strengthen the sense of responsibility, and ensure the completion of records with high quality. At the same time, the Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center will also actively assist and guide the intangible cultural heritage protection centers of cities, counties and districts in the province to carry out relevant record-keeping work.

In 2021, more than 40 people attended the training, including some inheritors and academic commissioner representatives of the national representative inheritors' record work, the project leaders of the Provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage Conservation Center, the relevant personnel of the Provincial Art Research Institute, the shooting company, and the media team.
