Musk: Tesla will release new software to fix the heat pump problem

A few days ago, Diange learned from social media that Tesla CEO Musk announced that he would "solve" the heat pump problem through the release of software updates through OTA, which has been plaguing users in many cold areas until now. However, some people questioned that the software could not solve this problem, and the Tesla service center had previously shown some statements that the heat pump problem came from the hardware, not the software could solve it.

Previously, there were media reports that in extremely cold weather, Tesla's heat pump failed, which in turn led to the inability to use the heating function. This problem is concentrated on models that offer new heat pump systems.

In March last year, Tesla issued a service announcement called "Replacement of Refrigerant Pressure/Temperature Sensors", which applies to model 3 and Model Y that need to replace faulty heat pumps in 2020-2021 models worldwide.

"Some Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles have heat pumps or are equipped with refrigerant pressure/temperature sensors that may malfunction over time," the announcement reads. Tesla says the solution is to "replace all refrigerant pressure/temperature sensors." However, it should be pointed out that the model 3 and Model Y models with heat pumps that need to be recalled and replaced are models produced in 2020 or 2021.

In response to this situation, the first to be discovered is tesla software hacker @greentheonly, who said on Twitter that Tesla has changed the current status of the 2020-2021 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles with faulty refrigerant pressure/temperature sensors, from "repairing the vehicle only when a customer complains" to "full recall of parts."

It seems that the heat pump problem will be pulled for some time
