According to British media Outlet Insider, Newcastle is in deep negotiations with Brighton, and they hope to sign their defender Dan Byrne for £10 million.

Earlier, Newcastle had turned their attention to Dan Byrne, who wanted to strengthen the team's defence. According to sources to Football Insider, negotiations between the two teams have made progress, and the two sides have grown confidence in reaching an agreement.

Newcastle believe Bourne is a proven Premier League player with 18 months left on his current contract with the club. Notably, Bourne was born in the northeastern town of Bryce and was a Newcastle fan as a teenager.

Bourne had spent some time in Newcastle's 'Youth Coaching Programme' but left at the age of 11. Since joining Brighton in January 2019, he has become a key player for the Seagulls.

So far, Bourne has played 85 games for Brighton, 83 of which are in the Premier League.
