"Late Qing Dynasty Paper Cutting - The Aesthetics of Life in the Old Time" was unveiled at the Yantai Grand Theatre during the Spring Festival

Jiaodong folk window flower paper-cutting is a splendid flower bred by Yantai's history and culture, and is one of the important art forms in Chinese paper-cutting art. In order to give full play to the role of works in the collection of works to serve the society and educate the public, promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent regional culture in the present, so that excellent traditional culture and art will continue to keep pace with the times and rejuvenate in the development trend of the times. The exhibition "Paper Cutting in the Late Qing Dynasty – The Aesthetics of Life in the Old Times" curated by the Yantai Museum of Fine Arts was exhibited at the Yantai Grand Theatre on January 26.

The exhibition selects the folk paper-cut works in jiaodong in the late Qing dynasty, focuses on the exhibition theme of "life aesthetics in the old time", starts from the chronological characteristics, theme style, life application, aesthetic value and other aspects of the collection, and is divided into four parts: "blessing, elegance, staying fang, and beautiful things", and exhibits more than 20 representative works including reflecting the folk customs of Jiaodong in the Qing Dynasty, reflecting the aesthetic interests of the literati, folk tales and legends, and embodying the aesthetic application of paper-cutting in life. These works pin beautiful meanings and hope for happiness vision, present the aesthetic value of life implied by the folk paper-cutting of late Qingjiaodong, and express the yearning and pursuit of the people of Jiaodong for a better life in the late Qing Dynasty.

Yantai Art Museum and Yantai Grand Theatre set up and built a relatively perfect and long-term mechanism of "grassroots aesthetic education demonstration points" in its space, aiming to display art works of different themes, so that young children and the public from all walks of life can accept the influence of elegant art through multiple channels, face to face and zero distance directly feel the artistic charm of excellent art works, improve the level of art appreciation, and truly achieve culture and art to benefit the grassroots people.
