In the Milan derby that ended in the last round, Milan won 2-1 against Inter, Olivier Giroud scored twice, and the first goal was controversial due to the suspected foul action against Sanchez.

According to the Corriere della Sera, the Referees' Association believed that Giroud's first goal in the Milan derby did not require VAR intervention, because referee Guida stood very close to Giroud at the time, and observed the scope and intensity of physical contact between the two at close range, and finally determined that there was no foul.

The Corriere della Sera believes that this is not an obvious mistake, but VAR did not intervene correctly.
