The introduction of the traditional architectural structure of the courtyard and the courtyard influenced Zhu Xiaofeng's basic concept of the design of the Pudong Qunyi Museum building. A north-south river divides it into two areas, east, west and small, and two bridges across the river bear the spiritual weight of the two banks, while forming a socketed zigzag courtyard structure with the platforms on both sides. And because of the flow of the river, the sparkling waves balance the tough straight lines of modern architecture, making it a little more tender.
Entrance
The space on the covered bridge will extend into several courtyards, which are not yet completed, but tiptoeing through the simple version of the "flower window" inlaid on the white wall can be seen in the faint bamboo forest swaying and half a full moon door shadow. On the other side of the bridge, the modern steel structure is vertical and horizontal, straight and bare, as if it were an abstract painting that rose out of thin air, with rich semantics. Originally a simple bridge, those who walk on it can listen to the modernist straightforward dialogue with the traditional garden song, which makes people want to look at the fence and feel the wall for a long time, and they can go back and forth several times without getting bored.
The two pavilions share space
If you enter through the main entrance of the Qunyi Museum, in the middle of the high lobby is a pillar like a towering tree, and at the top of the column is a separate "tree branch", and the overall white is like the moment when the first snow covers the earth. Stepping on the steps facing the gate, you can see the undulating wall like an ocean wave, symbolizing the vastness and tolerance of Haipai culture, the side of the "ocean wave" is inlaid with lighting devices, walking closer, the undulating curve is like a very low hanging eye curtain, a pair of eyes looking at the world, shy and full of expectation. Behind the wall, it is the grand theater that can accommodate 1300 people, and at this moment, the Shanghai opera "Sister Jiang" has ended its performance. If you follow the stairs on the right-hand side, you will arrive at the covered bridge, which can also be regarded as an extension of the bridge body, bringing in the wet breath of the river.

Zhu Xiaofeng introduced that the Pudong Qunyi Museum and the Pudong Youth Activity Center are close together, and the platforms of the two museums are crisscrossed on the 2nd to 4th floors, providing many indoor and outdoor shared spaces. "This unique design releases the ground floor of the building, the space on the first floor is completely released and opened, there is no wall, people can walk through it, sharing the entire courtyard and the riverbank. The main event space is set up on the second floor, which not only maintains their independence but also shares some public facilities such as garages and elevators to achieve environmental protection. ”

The pudong group art museum and youth activity center building in the north is adjacent to the Pudong New Area Library, and in the south is the planning and urban art center designed by british architect David Chipperfield, the architectural style is inherently unified - with a large and integrated platform to respond to the spatial scale of the city, and the small and scattered box body responds to the physical and mental scale of the individual, the combination of the two not only provides a pleasant space for the activities inside the building, but also makes the building community a public stage for urban life through the integration with the environment.
