Leaping royal city: BYD borrowed new energy raids, and the pattern of "independent three strong" changed

Whether it is the impact caused by the outside or the internal challenges, the sales ranking of independent brands in February has undergone a huge change, and the original "independent three" pattern has not been continued. From the perspective of sales ranking, BYD squeezed last month's sales champion out of the "independent top three" and ranked first; Geely and the Great Wall continue to rank second and third respectively; Chang'an slipped to fifth place; SAIC Passenger Vehicle and Chery ranked fourth and sixth respectively.

From the perspective of sales structure, BYD completed the "raid" on the "independent top three" in February by virtue of the "outbreak" on the new energy track. In terms of overseas business, SAIC Motor's passenger car and Chery's sales continued to lead, and Great Wall and Geely chose to focus on the new energy business this year.

Whether it is the impact caused by the outside or the internal challenges, the sales ranking of independent brands in February has undergone a huge change, and the original "independent three" pattern has not been continued. By combing the data released by manufacturers and the data released by the China Economic Network, the reporter of China Economic Network found that in February, the sales of BYD Passenger Cars, Geely, Great Wall, SAIC Passenger Vehicles, Changan Passenger Vehicles and Chery Automobile were 90,268 units, 78,478 vehicles, 70,792 vehicles, 64,407 vehicles, 61,000 vehicles and 44,396 vehicles, respectively, an increase of 336.2%, 2%, -20.5%, 114.69%, -40.9% and 31.4% respectively.

From the sales ranking point of view, in February, BYD squeezed last month's sales champion out of the "independent top three" and ranked first; Geely and the Great Wall continue to rank second and third respectively; Chang'an slipped to fifth place; SAIC Passenger Vehicle and Chery ranked fourth and sixth respectively.

From the perspective of target progress, in the first two months of this year, BYD Passenger Vehicle, Geely, Great Wall and Chery Automobile have completed 15.45%, 13.63%, 9.61% and 10.97% of the target tasks respectively.

Although only based on the sales volume in the first 2 months, the reporter is not enough to give a judgment on which independent brands can complete or exceed the target. But from the current sales momentum, BYD undoubtedly has the most "dark horse" potential.

Last month, the China Economic Network Auto Channel proposed in the article "Leaping The Royal Market: "Independent Top Three" Starts to Lead, "Potential Stocks" New Track Rush" and proposed, "If BYD completes its sales targets as scheduled this year, it will be expected to break through the 'independent top three' pattern that has lasted for many years." So, why does BYD have the potential to achieve a breakthrough in the "independent three" pattern?

On February 28, at a press conference held by the Information Office of the State Council, Xin Guobin, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said, "Judging from the situation in all aspects, the development of the new energy automobile industry in the mainland has entered a new stage of large-scale and rapid development, although our development is still facing some difficulties and challenges, it is expected to maintain a high-speed growth trend this year." ”

From the perspective of sales structure, BYD completed the "raid" on the "independent top three" in February by virtue of the "outbreak" on the new energy track. According to the data, in February, BYD's new energy passenger car sales reached 87,473 units, a year-on-year increase of 764.1%. Whether it is the sales base or the growth rate, BYD's new energy business has a huge leading edge.

In addition to BYD, the performance of several other independent brands in the new energy business has shown a certain differentiation. Geely and Chery basically maintained normal levels, while SAIC Passenger Cars and Great Wall showed a sharp decline from last month.

Among them, the Great Wall Motor Euler brand stopped accepting new orders for black and white cats, and currently mainly relies on good cats to maintain sales data. According to the data, the Euler brand sold 6261 vehicles in February, of which Euler Good Cat sold 4066 vehicles in the month. This not only led to a sharp decline in its own sales, but also caused a lot of controversy and doubt.

In this regard, Euler Automobile CEO Dong Yudong said in an interview with reporters, "From the overall strategy point of view, we pay more attention to promoting the upward growth of the brand, which also determines that we will definitely pay more and more attention to the waist market of 150,000-200,000 yuan, rather than entanglement in the bottom market."

According to the plan, this year, Euler ballet cat, Euler lightning cat, Eulerpunk cat and other products will be listed one after another. The Mocha DHT-PHEV, a subsidiary of Weipai, was also officially listed on March 1.

In terms of overseas business, SAIC Passenger Cars and Chery continued to lead in sales, with sales of 28,000 units and 19,997 units respectively in February. Among them, Chery has established six major R&D bases, 10 overseas factories, more than 1,500 dealers and service outlets around the world, with a total overseas production capacity of 200,000 units/year; For 19 consecutive years, it ranked first in the export of Chinese brand passenger cars. According to the plan, Chery will strive to achieve the goal of exporting 500,000 vehicles per year and further accelerate the globalization strategy. SAIC Passenger Vehicles is also striving to open up new situations in key markets such as Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

In contrast, Great Wall and Geely have chosen the new energy track as the focus of overseas markets this year. At the end of last month, Geely Automobile and The Norwegian Gill Gruppen Group reached a strategic cooperation agreement on the export of its new energy model Geometry C to Norway. Great Wall also launched more new models equipped with core technologies such as lemon hybrid DHT this year to improve its product matrix. (China Economic Network reporter Wang Yueyue)
