Dong Meiren Epitaph, the full name is "Meiren Dong Clan Epitaph". Carved in the seventeenth year of the Sui Kai Emperor, the rough stone was excavated in Xi'an, Shaanxi during the Qing Jiaqing and Daoguang years. It was obtained by The Shanghai LuJunqing official Shaanxi Xingping and returned to Shanghai Xu Weiren. In the third year of Xianfeng, during the peasant uprising war of the Shanghai Knife Society, the rough stones were destroyed. Xu's Tuoben is very rare, and the excavated First Tuoben is particularly rare. The "Epitaph of Dong Meiren" was written by the third son of Emperor Wen of Sui, and Yang Xiu, the King of Shu, was written by his beloved concubine Dong Meiren, who died of illness at the age of nineteen, and Yang Xiu wrote an article to express his condolences. Sui calligraphy, inheriting the Northern Wei calligraphy, the next Opening Tang Dynasty new style, is the Jinliang between the Southern and Northern Dynasties and the Tang Dynasty, "Dong Meiren Epitaph" can be called the first in the Sui Zhi Xiaokai, belongs to the top of the epitaphs of the past dynasties, and opened the Tang Dynasty Zhong Shaojing all the way xiaokai. Its calligraphy layout is smooth and loose, neat and meticulous, the knots are respectful and rigorous, the bones are beautiful and muscle-rich, the penmanship is exquisite and subtle, and the elegance is elegant.
From the perspective of the font, the kaifa is pure and the intention is exhausted, which is very different from the Jin people Xiaokai and the Northern Dynasty epitaphs, but part of it can be seen that the outer square is round, gorgeous and firm, giving people a clear and refreshing feeling, and the ancient meaning is not yet strong. Qing Luo Zhenyu spoke highly of it: "Kaifa to Sui Tang is a great preparation, and in recent times, Sui carved to "Dong Meiren", "Wei Shi Nu", "Zhang Guinan" Three ZhiShi, especially known as the masterpiece."
