Bloomberg previously reported that Ubisoft was working on Assassin's Creed: Rift, a game that was originally intended as DLC content for Assassin's Creed: Temple of Heroes, but during development, it has evolved into a standalone game. While it was reported that the game would be released by the end of 2022, a new report released by people familiar with the matter, Tom Henderson, on Xfire gave a different account.
According to Henderson, Assassin's Creed: Rift is currently scheduled for release in the first half of 2023. Allegedly, due to problems with the development schedule of Assassin's Creed: Infinity, it was not possible to release it soon, so the release time of Assassin's Creed: Rift had to be arranged in this way. Meanwhile, the smaller Assassin's Creed: Rift will feature Basim, a well-known character from Assassin's Creed: Temple of Heroes, and will focus more on stealth gameplay than on open-world action RPGs.
Back in Assassin's Creed: Infinity, Ubisoft officials have previously confirmed that the game is in development. According to Henderson, it is still in the "early production phase." The game is said to be expected to be released in 2024 or 2025, which is also consistent with previous reports.
Meanwhile, Henderson said Assassin's Creed: Infinity brings together all future Assassin's Creed games and said that Animus will be the focus of the experience, bringing together stories from different backgrounds and eras, with more and more content constantly being added to the game.
It's unclear when Assassin's Creed: Infinity and Assassin's Creed: Rift will be officially released, but Henderson said Ubisoft will release 20 announcements and updates in the near future, so Assassin's Creed could at least be one of them.
According to Henderson, there are also many Ubisoft-related leaks, including "Drag Race 3", "Prince of Persia Remake", "Wataru: Rise of Fennis" sequel, please refer to other reports on Ranger.com.
