Editor's Note:

People's Daily Beijing, April 27 (Reporter Li Dong) On the 26th, the Chinese Nutrition Society issued the "Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents (2022)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Guidelines"). This is the latest revision of the Dietary Guidelines for Residents since the release of the 2016 edition. Among them, salmon as a deep-sea fish rich in high-quality protein appeared for the first time in the dietary guidelines, analysts believe that this to a certain extent to improve the "protein matrix" of the Nutrition Upgrade of the Chinese people.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Chinese Nutrition Society, since the first release of the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents in 1989, the mainland has carried out three revisions and releases in 1997, 2007 and 2016, "in different periods, it has played an important role in guiding residents to change their nutritional health status, prevent chronic diseases and enhance their health quality through a balanced diet." ”

Compared with the 2016 version, the "Guide" has extracted eight guidelines for balanced diets: first, food diversity, reasonable collocation; second, eat balance, healthy weight; third, eat more vegetables and fruits, milk, whole grains, soybeans; fourth, eat fish, poultry, eggs, lean meat in moderation; fifth, less salt and less oil, control sugar and limit alcohol; sixth, eat regularly, drink enough water; seventh, will cook and choose, will look at labels; eighth, public chopsticks to divide meals, eliminate waste.

The new version of the guidelines emphasizes the importance of fish, meat and aquatic products. The Guidelines show that the average intake of fish and shrimp by mainland residents is 24.3 g/d, which has not increased significantly over the years, and on the basis of a full assessment of the level of evidence for scientific evaluation of fish and health, the Guidelines put forward recommendations for increasing the intake of fish and shrimp, and salmon as a representative of deep-sea fish rich in high-quality protein Omega-3 was recommended by dietary guidelines for the first time.

"Compared with developed countries, mainland children have a large gap in the intake of deep-sea fish, which also leads to insufficient intake of important nutrients such as high-quality protein, unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin A, vitamin D, and vitamin E." Wang Zhu, a researcher at the Institute of Nutrition and Health of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said that to guide children to eat a reasonable diet and improve children's health, we can start from adjusting the diet structure, such as allowing children to reasonably consume fat and increasing the intake of deep-sea fish rich in omega-3.

"Salmon, a high-quality source of deep-sea protein rich in the unsaturated fatty acid Omega-3, is becoming a new favorite on residents' tables." The relevant person in charge of Joyvo Group believes that the recommendation of salmon in the dietary guide is bound to promote the upgrading of salmon from "niche protein" to "national protein", and help consumers establish a health concept upgrade from "food balance" to more comprehensive "nutrient balance" from diet.

Experts said that with the continuous improvement of living standards, the "amount" of protein in the dietary structure of Chinese residents has been greatly improved, and the "quality" of protein also needs to be continuously adjusted and optimized from animal protein to increase the intake of fish and shrimp protein and high-quality deep-sea protein.

"As a domestic company covering the whole industrial chain of salmon farming, import, processing and sales, salmon from the pure sea of Antarctica has become a daily meal for Chinese people, aiming to promote the upgrading of 'national protein'." The relevant person in charge of Joyvo Group said that with the new round of opportunities brought about by the promotion of salmon and other healthy foods, in the future, Joyvo will promote industrial upgrading with advanced productivity and promote the "Healthy China" action with multi-dimensional measures.
