In response to The Witch Pei's visit to Taiwan, someone asked me: What are your views? I am always concerned about the reunification of the motherland, and I believe that the Chinese people should not forget the Sino-French War in The Battle of Huwei and the descendants of Sun Kaihua, the national hero of the "Yiwei Anti-Taiwan" national hero, Daoyuan.
In the twentieth year of Guangxu (1894), Japan instigated the Sino-Japanese War that shocked the country on the grounds of Korean ownership. Based on the information provided by the Japanese spies, the Japanese Navy severely damaged the Beiyang Marine Division, and the Qing court was forced to negotiate peace with Japan. On April 17, 1895, Li Hongzhang signed the Treaty of Maguan in Maguan, Japan, which humiliated the country.
The Japanese army, which had been coveting Taiwan for a long time, planned to land in Taiwan from Huwei after attacking Penghu, but the Japanese ship sailed to the sea on the western front of Taiwan Island, and found that Sun Daoyuan led Sun Kaihua's troops to lead the fortification of Sun Kaihua's "Promotion Camp - Changsheng Sun", and did not dare to repeat the "Battle of Huwei" to retreat, so he decided to secretly sneak into the northeast corner based on the map of Taiwan drawn by the Japanese spy Qiushan. On May 29, the Japanese army landed at SanSable Point, and Sun Daoyuanwen and Taitung defender Wu Guohua went to the aid of SanSable Ridge. On the 31st, a japanese army attacked ruifang town, Sun Daoyuan used the bamboo forest as a cover, beat the enemy and fled, but finally could not hold out because of the use of ammunition, and finally strategized and swung a knife into the enemy position, unfortunately shot and martyred. Among the Yang brothers, the second brother also died with Sun Daoyuan, and the angry Yang Da served as a mage and buried Daoyuan and Yang Er. Two days later, on 2 June, Li Jingfang, son of Li Hongzhang, signed a document on the cession and handover of Taiwan with Japanese representative Shiki Yamayama aboard the Japanese warship Xijing Maru outside the mouth of Keelung.
After Sun Daoyuan's martyrdom, the Qing court ordered the officials stationed on the island and the army to cross within. Yang Da and Sun Xiaojiu, the servants of the Sun family, painstakingly persuaded Sun Daoyuan's wife Zhang Xiurong to return to his hometown, but Zhang Xiurong did not comply, entrusted his two young sons to Yang Da and Uncle Jiu and sent them back to Xiangxi, wrote the "Letter of Entrustment to Orphans" with weeping blood, and poured out his family wealth to support the New Chu Army to defend Taiwan and resist Japan. Yang Da and Uncle Jiu took the two youngest sons of the Sun family to cross the sea, and after crossing the sea, Yang Da decided to entrust the matter of "entrusting orphans" to Sun Xiaojiu, and he resolutely returned to Taiwan to look for Zhang Xiurong and the new Chu army.
In October of the same year, the Japanese army shelled the fortress after the Kaohsiung Banner, and Mrs. Sun's wife Zhang Xiurong and Liu Hongxian, the daughter of the famous anti-Japanese general Liu Yongfu, detonated the ammunition depot at the last moment of the Japanese knife and gun attack and died together with the Invading Japanese Army. The deeds of Sun Daoyuan and his wife Dai Xiaoju who went forward and followed up were compiled into the "Record of the Taiwan War" by Yi Shunding, a Hunan man who was alone in aiding Taiwan, and as a news of the field express of the Black Flag Army of The Heroic Liu Yongfu on Taiwan Island, it was soon reprinted into a picture album by the inland Shanghai "Declaration • Dianshizhai" and the Baowentang Bookstore in Kyoto.
Remember, Taiwan will always be a part of the Chinese nation, and outsiders are not allowed to talk about it!
