On the 22nd, Wu Tong, a wind musician, cross-border musician and national first-class actor, made the above statement at the famous teacher public welfare lecture hall "Listening to the Rainbow's "Sheng" Sound - Following Wu Tong into the World of Music" held at the China Soong Ching Ling Youth Science and Technology And Cultural Exchange Center.

Wu Tong introduced at the scene that the traditional Chinese musical instrument Sheng has more than 3,000 years of written history and more than 2,400 years of physical history, which is composed of sheng spring, sheng miao and sheng dou. He summed up Sheng's voice and the spirit of traditional Chinese culture it contained in the four words of "harmony, morality, purity, and integrity".

Wu Tong, 50 years old this year, has been practicing Sheng since childhood and has been accompanied by Sheng for 45 years. He rode the "Chinese Culture" float at the 2019 celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, performing the "National Flag Sheng" printed with the national flag. This experience inspired Wu Tong's sense of national pride, he said, the development of the country not only makes our lives richer, but also pays more and more attention to the inheritance of culture.

"We live in a new era, everything is new, and these 'new' are based on a long cultural heritage, and then face a greater future." Wu Tong said in the lecture.

Wu Tong introduced that sheng has promoted the development of Western musical instruments to a certain extent, and musical instruments such as harmonica and accordion have been influenced by reed instrument sheng.
