Romani Conti released the 2014 vintage, and it is better to drink it than to see it

author:Encyclopedia of red wine

Not long after the 2015 Burgundy Wine Tasting Week, domaine de la Romanee-Conti (DRC) 2014 vintage was the first to be listed in the UK. Compared to other Burgundy wines, DRC's launch is delayed by a year, and the BRITISH agent is Corney & Barrow, a well-known and well-known wine merchant in London.

The DRC 2014 vintage includes a wide range of styles, from clean and light to deep and intense. Corton is the "entry-level" wine in Grand Garden Dry Red, corton appears to be tight and dry, but also has the potential to develop mellow qualities, while the more advanced Romanee-St-Vivant has precise, luscious and charming qualities; Richebourg has a unique charm to indulge.

1. What is the quality of Romani Kande in the 2014 vintage?

Burgundy's weather conditions in 2014 were not ideal, with pleasant spring, early summer, a severe hailstorm falling from the sky in June, and subsequent heat waves and insect infestations that made wine farmers miserable, until September finally ushered in the sun. Many wine critics believe that 2014 Burgundy white wines generally have consistently good quality, while red wine quality is uneven.

The international price comparison website WS has reported that according to the vineyard management, harvest time, winemaking process, 2014 Burgundy red wine may have the characteristics of clean, light, fresh and charming, or may have a strong taste, tannin rich characteristics. The premium red wines are full-bodied and sensual, with aromas of red cherry and blueberry fruit, as well as elegant earthy and classic farm flavours, with soft tannins and intense acidity.

Aubert de Villaine, head of drc, said: "2015 was very high in phenols, and 2014 was very different. In 2014, due to the weather, the ripening time of grape phenols was delayed, and the wine produced was very pure, but it took longer to reach full ripeness... It will take about 15 years."

2. Romani Kande in 2014 is still in short supply

DrC 2014 vintage produced more than in previous years, for example, 1,756 cases for Romani-Saint-Vivien, 1,160 cases for Fort Richey and 700 cases for Romani Conti. However, given the huge market demand for DRC, such production is still very limited.

Although Burgundy's 2014 vintage was not as well received as its 2015 vintage, the 2014 DRC was still expensive. Obel-Wieland has said many times that he strives to control the factory price of DRC, but in the hot secondary market, it is not controllable by manpower. When Romani Conde Park was sold from Corney & Barrow last January, the unpaid price was $2,500 per bottle, and the price of the wine has now risen more than four times that of last year.

The 2015 Burgundy Wine Week has just passed and has been well received by wine critics. It is foreseeable that in 2018, the high-profile 2015 DRC will usher in a situation after the listing.

3. How does the 2014 Romani Kandy taste?

Adam Brett-Smith, managing director of Corney & Barrow, wrote notes on the 7 Dry Red tastings of the 7 Grand Masters after tasting the 2014 DRC. I wait for the melon crowd, can't drink, look at it or not.
