Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway Project starts from Guangshen Yanjiang Expressway, the route runs from west to east through Bao'an District, Guangming District, Longhua District, Dongguan City, Longgang District, Pingshan District and Dapeng New District, and the planned end point is Pingxi Expressway.

The total length is about 94km, including 77km in Shenzhen and 17km in Dongguan.
Among them, the second phase of the Shenzhen section of the Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway starts from the end of the Longgang section of the first phase of the project (Huiyan Expressway), passes through Pingdi and Kengzi, and ends at Danzi Avenue.
The total length of the line is 9.35 kilometers, and it is built according to the standard of a two-way, six-lane expressway.
A total of 3 toll booths are set up in the second phase of the outer ring road (Baolong, Jinsha, Pingshan); 3 interchanges (Powerlong, Kengzidong, Jinsha); Service area 1 (Hengling).

Since the construction permit and construction filing procedures were officially approved on May 25, 2023, the Outer Ring Project Management Office organized the construction unit to officially start the lifting operation on June 1, and completed the lifting of the fifth steel box girder of the E ramp on June 4 and the fifth steel box girder of the C ramp on June 16.
On the afternoon of June 25th, the last steel box girder of the second phase of the Shenzhen Outer Ring Expressway project across the D ramp bridge of the Shenzhen Shanxi Expressway was successfully dropped.
