Fei Ge today recommends a movie "Marriage Story", which depicts a couple gradually falling into the cumbersome process of legal proceedings with the intervention of a lawyer. The climactic scene of the movie is the hysterical scene where the two sides point their noses at each other in the room. What moved the audience in this movie was the unreserved love of the divorced parties for their children. We see the rationality and restraint of couples in front of their children, rather than using children to threaten each other. However, in real life, how many divorced couples can remain as warm as the couple in the movie? The passage that the husband read to his son in the movie shows his deep reluctance to this relationship. The couple, who once loved each other and were responsible for their children, eventually parted ways.
This is the most heartbreaking scene of the movie. As touching as the movie is, I think it is a little too gentle to rate the film. As a divorce-themed movie, it tries to maintain the decency and rationality of the couple mixed in Vanity Fair, while also showing the various reluctances in their hearts.
As a literary film, such a treatment can win the praise of ordinary audiences, but it is difficult to win the favor of the film festival jury.
