Zhou Zhongying, male, Han nationality, born in 1928, from Rudong County, Jiangsu Province, a famous contemporary Chinese medicine master, tenured professor, chief TCM physician and doctoral supervisor of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, member of the Faculty of the Chinese Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and the first master of traditional Chinese medicine. He is the representative inheritor of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage items "Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis Method", and has won many honorary titles such as advanced scientific and technological workers in national colleges and universities, excellent instructors of academic thought of national old Chinese medicine experts, excellent instructors of national excellent Chinese medicine clinical talent training projects, famous traditional Chinese medicine practitioners in Jiangsu Province, advanced workers in Jiangsu Province, advanced workers in science and technology in Jiangsu Province, excellent graduate tutors in Jiangsu Province, outstanding Communist Party members in Jiangsu Province, etc., and won the National Outstanding Contribution Award for Traditional Chinese Medicine. According to the official website of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, Zhou Zhongying was born in 1928 in a family of five generations of traditional Chinese medicine. Zhou Zhongying once recalled that when he was still young, he followed his father Zhou Xiaozhai to the doctor, and listened to his father teach medical theory and medical Taoism at night. From the "Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor" to the "Three Character Classic of Medicine", from the Jin Yuan family to the Ming and Qing dynasties, he followed his father to testify while reading, and felt the magic of Chinese medicine in repeated understanding.

At the age of 13, Zhou Zhongying officially studied Chinese medicine with her father; At the age of 17, he was able to follow the house call; In his early 20s, he opened a clinic in his hometown. In 1947, Zhou Zhongying, who already had some clinical practice experience, was admitted to a medical school in Shanghai to study as a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner. At that time, the famous old Chinese medicine practitioners in Shanghai taught and taught clinically, which enabled him to further consolidate the theoretical and clinical foundation of Chinese medicine, understand the specialties of different medical schools, and make his thinking more broad and clear. In 1955, Zhou Zhongying became one of the first batch of students of Jiangsu Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After graduating in 1956, he worked in the Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has successively served as the vice president of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the president of Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (now renamed Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine). In addition, Zhou Zhongying is also the first batch of recipients of special government allowances of the State Council, and an excellent instructor of academic thought of national experts in old Chinese medicine.

Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine is an honorary title for famous doctors with high morality and superb medical skills in the field of traditional Chinese medicine. In 2009, there were 30 TCM experts who won the title of "Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine", all of whom were provincial or national famous old TCM practitioners, and Professor Zhou Zhongying was one of them.

Professor Zhou Zhongying is a witness, pioneer and leader of the continuous development of Chinese medicine since liberation, and has made outstanding contributions to the clinical diagnosis and treatment, teaching and education, scientific research and academic innovation of Chinese medicine, and has exerted extensive social influence at home and abroad. He is good at clinical diagnosis and treatment of urgent and difficult serious diseases, exquisite medical skills, saving lives and helping the wounded, repeatedly sinking problems, noble medical ethics, and deeply loved by patients. In 1957, Zhou Zhongying began to get involved in Chinese medicine education and participated in the compilation of textbooks such as "Internal Medicine of Chinese Medicine". From 1983 to 1991, Zhou Zhongying served as the dean of Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, sending a large number of practical Chinese medicine talents to all parts of the country. In 1990, Zhou Zhongying was awarded the title of Advanced Scientific and Technological Worker in National Colleges and Universities, the title of National Excellent Graduate Tutor in 1991, and the Outstanding Instructor of Academic Experience Inheritance of National Old Chinese Medicine Experts in 2008. Over the years, he has undertaken undergraduate classroom systematic teaching and clinical teaching, and personally trained 13 masters, 27 doctors, 2 postdoctoral fellows, 2 visiting scholars, 6 state-designated academic heirs, and more than 60 re-disciples who are still in the front line of clinical guidance in recent years, all of whom have become the backbone of relevant hospitals and scientific research institutions.
