According to the official introduction, BMW is creating a new generation of "smarter" personal assistants, which are based on generative AI technology provided by Amazon's Alexa large language model, claiming to "understand you and your car better". BMW also assures that generative AI will neither take over the user's actions nor steal the user's information.
The Alexa model will be available in the new version of the BMW OS 9 system, which is currently being pushed out one after another.
In addition, BMW will also introduce a new in-car game feature that allows you to use your smartphone as a gamepad to connect to your car. After the next in-car OTA, users will be able to use a "real" gamepad, such as those on Xbox and PlayStation, to play games on the car.
During this year's CES, BMW will also showcase the application of VR, AR and other technologies in the cabin. Used in conjunction with AR glasses (XREAL Air 2 in the official press release) can display navigation instructions, entertainment content, charging station information, parking status, and more. Officials also said that even in complex driving situations such as turns and bumps, what was seen was still clear and vivid.
BMW will also be showcasing the "next generation" valet parking solution with Valeo, where the driver can park in a designated area, and the vehicle will automatically search for a parking space and automatically drive in. When the driver needs to use the car again, the vehicle can automatically drive out of the parking space and drive back to the pick-up area on its own.
