3D hard gold is a traditional pure gold treated with hollow nano electroforming technology. Through a special process, the hardness of gold is greatly increased to several times that of traditional pure gold, and it has a high three-dimensional sense and wear resistance, so it can create a more varied and three-dimensional jewelry shape. Although the hardness is enhanced, the interior is usually hollow, so it is relatively light in weight and relatively cost-effective. When buying 3D hard gold, be sure to ask the salesman what the gold content is, whether it is 18K gold or 24K gold, because some 3D hard gold jewelry may use K gold technology, such as 18K gold, which has a gold content of 75% (that is, 750 thousandths), and the remaining 25% is other metal alloys to enhance hardness, color and durability.
3. 5D hard gold
5D hard gold is an upgraded version of 3D hard gold technology. It further optimizes the formulation of electroforming potions, using environmentally friendly cyanide-free technology, which not only improves the hardness of gold, making it thinner and larger, but also brighter in color, and can be polished with high precision to increase the aesthetics of the product. 5D hard gold also maintains the characteristics of light weight, compared with the same volume of traditional pure gold, the weight is reduced by about 70%, and at the same time, it is not easy to deform and damage. Similarly, when buying such products, it is necessary to determine whether it is pure gold or 18K gold.
4. 18K gold
18K gold, also known as AU750 or G750, refers to a jewelry material that contains 75% gold alloyed with other precious metals such as platinum, palladium, nickel, silver, etc. Due to the addition of other metallic elements, 18K gold has higher hardness and better toughness, making it more suitable for gem-setting and making intricate jewelry designs. However, compared to pure gold, its gold content is lower, and the color can vary depending on the alloy composition added, such as white 18K gold, red 18K gold (rose gold) and yellow 18K gold.
