On May 18th, the high-profile "Endless Collection: Su Shi's Artistic Spirit of Calligraphy and Painting" will be held at the Nanjing Museum. From the perspective of Su Shi's painting art, painting theory, and its guiding significance and influence on the development of Chinese painting, the exhibition selects representative Su Shi's paintings and calligraphy, as well as typical paintings by important calligraphers and painters in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties influenced by Su Shi's painting and calligraphy theory.
In recent years, Su Shi's related exhibitions have continued, and the exhibits are selected from the Palace Museum, the National Art Museum of China, the Shanghai Museum, the Tianjin Museum, the Liaoning Provincial Museum, the Wuxi Museum, the Zhenjiang Museum, etc., and more than 150 pieces (sets) of Su Shi's paintings, calligraphy and Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, including more than 80 first-class cultural relics and more than 30 masterpieces of the Song and Yuan dynasties. The exhibition lasts until August 18, with three phases and three scenes.

Jiao Xingtao served as the dean of Chuanmei
On May 7, the official website of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute announced that Jiao Xingtao was appointed as the president of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. Jiao Xingtao, born in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 1970, graduated from Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 1996 with a master's degree. He has been deeply engaged in the field of sculpture creation and related art education for many years, and has attracted the attention of the Chinese sculpture community for a number of works with structural style.

Use art to explore instinctive feelings
From May 4th to June 9th, the group exhibition of young artists curated by Chen Yufeng, "Giant Objects Move, Body Weightlessness" was held at inner flow gallery. The exhibition treats the architectural structure of the gallery as a whole, presenting works by artists Bao Rong, Hu Jiayi, Jin Jiachen, Li Zetao, Wang Jing, Xie Kun, Zhou Hao, Zhang Jie, and Zhao Yu. It is hoped that through the creation and thinking of 9 artists, the most primitive feelings of human instinct can be triggered.
The exhibition simulates the illusion of the mind in the face of an unshakable system, as well as the extreme physiological response of the body against the laws of nature. Today's technological acceleration, overproduction, and hormone proliferation have given rise to many allegorical new giants. We are immersed in these realities filled with grotesqueness, and the inherent animality of human beings begins to curl up. In a state of intense concentration, the mind is detached in a "weightless" way, and the repressed inner emotions try to break free from the physical body in search of a transcendent dimension, looking directly at fear and bleakness with a frenzied passion.
The attitude towards "new alienation" and "naked life" determines the appearance of the current society, and the artists who shuttle through this complex structure have become important indicators to measure and critique social thought. It is true that individual artists cannot overlook the whole picture from the perspective of an omniscient person, but what is precious is that they can use experience and intuition to break through the original narrative, analyze and examine.

The Shanghai Urban Art Fair will be held
From May 17th to 19th, the 11th "AArt Shanghai Urban Art Fair" will be held at HUALUXE Hotel, 12 Hengshan Road, Shanghai. With the hotel room as the exhibition space, the artwork is presented in the home environment, providing a new and positive perspective of artistic life for the audience, and tens of thousands of visitors have started their art collection journey in AArt in the past ten years. In 2024, the organizing committee will invite audiences, artists, and exhibitors to explore the topic of "Art and Home".
This year, AArt will continue the traditional two sections: "Art Gallery Collection" in the art institution section and "City Emerging Talents" in the young creators section, presenting a large number of original artworks - from famous masterpieces to potential new works, including art collections, art derivatives and other diversified categories, to create a comprehensive art consumption gathering place. On this basis, a new section of life beauty and aesthetic experience is added, so that the audience can participate in the art experience in multiple dimensions in addition to the exhibition, and shorten the distance with the artworks and artists.

Harry Potter original cover photo
On June 26, the original cover of the first episode of Harry Potter published by British author J.K. Rowling in 1997, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone", will be auctioned at Sotheby's New York. Illustrated by British children's book writer and illustrator Thomas Taylor, who was only 23 years old at the time, Taylor took two days to create and used in several translations. The cover made its debut in 2001 and sold for $106,000 at Sotheby's London. After more than 20 years, it is expected to sell for $600,000, which will set a new auction record for a Harry Potter-related item in history.

The Korean girl group joins hands with Takashi Murakami
When it comes to crossovers, artist Takashi Murakami has always been at the forefront. The popular Korean girl group New Jeans released a preview of the MV for the Japanese single "RightNow", and the MV cooperated with Takashi Murakami, who simultaneously released a number of painting manuscripts on his personal social media. The five members of the group appeared in the form of the cartoon "Powerpuff Girls", and while walking through the jungle, they found Takashi Murakami's iconic "colorful flowers", and with the appearance of small flowers, New Jeans took on the appearance of Takashi Murakami's characters.

An ancient building of Henan University was burned down
On May 3, the official Weibo of Henan University issued a briefing: At about 23:20 on May 2, a fire was found in the auditorium of Minglun Campus during the renovation construction. After the fire department made every effort to extinguish the fire, the fire was extinguished and there were no casualties. The relevant authorities have intervened in the investigation. The auditorium was designed by the then president Xu Xinwu, broke ground on November 20, 1931, and was completed on December 28, 1934, at a cost of 210,000 yuan. The auditorium is a combination of Chinese and Western palace-style architecture, and is one of the few unique architectural treasures on university campuses today.
