At today's COMPUTEX 2024, AMD CEO Lisa Su showcased the sales growth momentum of the Instinct family of compute cards and unveiled a roadmap for the new Instinct family of GPUs that bring leading artificial intelligence (AI) performance to each generation.
According to the updated roadmap, AMD plans to bring the Instinct MI325X in Q4 2024 with a 288GB HBM3E, and in 2025 there will be the Instinct MI350 series with CDNA 4 architecture, manufactured on a more advanced 3nm process, and by 2026, the CDNA "Next" architecture will be available for the Instinct MI400 series, offering the latest features and functionality. Like NVIDIA, with the rapid development of the artificial intelligence business, AMD's data center GPUs have also embarked on a rhythm of annual updates.
Brad McCredie, vice president of AMD's Data Center Acceleration Computing business, said that products such as the Instinct MI300X are currently widely supported by many partners and customers, including Microsoft Azure, Meta, Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo and others, which is a direct result of the superior performance and value proposition of the Instinct family. As the pace of product updates accelerates, AMD will continue to innovate to deliver leading-edge capabilities and performance to the AI industry and customers to drive the next evolution of AI training and inference in the data center.
In addition, AMD continues to promote the construction of the AI software ecosystem, accelerating the frequency of continuous updates of the ROCm software stack, making the Instinct series of computing cards better run on servers, provide stronger inference performance, and become more mature in user use.
