About "Perfectionism"

author:Xiao Xiao emotional

Part 1

In daily study, I don't know if students will have the following situations:

1. When you can't complete your planned study tasks, you feel useless.

2. Often resentful of oneself or others, and therefore often critical of anything they do or what others do.

3. In the process of studying, you will feel angry whenever you are interrupted by something else.

About "Perfectionism"

All of these things can be the result of unhealthy perfectionism.

Part 2

The core characteristics of "perfectionism" include:

1. Self-imposed high standards;

2. Self-evaluation relies too much on success and achievement;

3. Higher self-criticism;

4. Fear of failure.

Do students have such characteristics?

Part 3

There is something good about perfectionism. Will be rigorous about things, and will be very attentive to all details.

However, perfectionism also has its negative aspects, especially when you and others are unable to meet the high standards you expect, and you can fall into feelings of confusion and anxiety

Even sometimes studying like obsessive-compulsive disorder can make you very tired

About "Perfectionism"

Part 4

So for this part of the students who are not affected by perfectionism, we can change it by trying the following methods~

1. Start with a less difficult task. Sometimes it takes a little more confidence to meet the high standards you expect, so we can first distinguish the difficult part of the task. Start with the easy parts to boost your confidence in completing the task. Students can find out what they think is easy from the daily study plan, do it first, and then start the day.

2. The plan only needs to be 30% fine-grained. For perfectionists, not being able to complete a plan is a very uncomfortable thing. You can start by reducing the granularity of your plan, such as listing only the tasks to be completed in the morning or afternoon, rather than exactly what to complete at what time or minute.

3. Quantify your progress on tasks. We don't evaluate our abilities by the outcome of the whole event, and we don't measure ourselves in a "black and white" way. Instead, you can quantify your progress and discover your progress or your own problems.

Try to use the method to see what changes~ There are not so many perfections in life, and only by accepting imperfections can there be room for improvement.
