This morning (June 25), the only tunnel in the Beijing sub-center section of the Jingtang Intercity Railway, the Tide Reduction River Tunnel, completed the shield machine tunneling task, laying a solid foundation for the opening and operation of the whole line.

At 8:18 a.m., the Beijing sub-center section of the Jingtang Intercity Railway completed the excavation task of the shield machine, achieving a safe and smooth breakthrough, and laying a solid foundation for the opening and operation of the whole line.

The Tide Reduction Tunnel is the only tunnel in the sub-center section of Beijing. Cui Xuejun, the on-site head of the engineering department of Jingtang Intercity Railway Co., Ltd., said that the completion of the shield tunneling task marks that all the tunnels of the Jingtang Intercity Railway have been broken through. There are also some ancillary works in the subsequent tunnel, such as ditches, cable troughs, etc., which need to be constructed, and then the construction of the under-track structure and the track will be carried out.

The 1.3-kilometer-long river tunnel was excavated by the domestic super-large slurry balance shield machine "Jingtong" from December 28 last year. The north side of the excavation line is adjacent to the existing Beijing-Harbin railway line, and the nearest horizontal distance is only 19 meters, which is difficult and technically demanding for construction.

Sun Lijun, head of the Jingtang Intercity Railway Project of China Railway 14th Bureau, said that the project team optimized the relevant design scheme, so that the impact of the shield process on the Beijing-Harbin line was almost zero. The Jingha Line operates 110 pairs of trains a day, and the impact is too great if it causes damage. We optimized the tunnelling parameters, made a test section before the crossing, and added a special material to the shell of the shield machine, the "mud effect", to fill in the ground to reduce ground settlement. In addition, we ensure that the EPB passes at a constant speed. The cutterhead is specially designed to use three layers of cutters for relay to avoid the impact of downtime and tool changes during the tunneling process, and reduce the failure rate.

In the next step, after the completion of the Beijing sub-center section of the Beijing-Tangshan Intercity Railway, it will be possible to directly reach the Beijing sub-center station from Tangshan Station, which is of great significance for the convenient travel of the people in the service area. Fan Dengpu, deputy director of the Railway Engineering Construction Coordination Office of the Beijing Municipal Major Project Office, introduced that after the Beijing underground section of the Jingtangcheng Railway is completed and opened to traffic, it will further strengthen the connection between the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, which is of great significance for relieving Beijing's non-capital functions, accelerating the construction of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on the track, driving the economic and social development of the regions along the line, enhancing the overall competitiveness of the region, and implementing the national strategy of coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.
