The year 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of China's full-featured access to the Internet, and over the past 30 years, the construction of the rule of law on the Internet in mainland China has been comprehensively deepened. Recently, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) took the lead in compiling the "Thirty Years of China's Internet Rule of Law". The cyber legal system has been basically formed
Up to now, the mainland has formulated and promulgated more than 150 pieces of legislation in the field of cyber, building the "four beams and eight pillars" of the mainland's cyber rule of law.
Establish specialized internet adjudication bodies
By the end of 2022, the three Internet courts had accepted a total of 429,000 Internet cases and concluded 415,000 cases, with an online case filing application rate of 98.5%.
Netizens actively participate in the establishment of online rule of law
In 2023, a total of 206 million netizen reports and clues will be accepted and disposed of
Personal information is protected in accordance with the law
In 2022, multiple departments jointly deployed and carried out a special action on personal information security governance in the field of postal express delivery, and by the end of 2023, the average daily usage of private waybills in the whole industry exceeded 360 million.
From June 2017 to June 2021, courts across the country concluded 9,743 criminal cases of infringement of citizens' personal information, with 21,726 effective judgments and sentences of more than three years in prison for 3,803 defendants.
Actively create a clean cyberspace
Since 2018, the "Clean Network" special action has been organized for five consecutive years. As of July 2022, a total of 255,000 cases of cybercrime such as hacker attacks and sabotage, "cyber trolls", and cyber hacks have been investigated and prosecuted, and 385,000 criminal suspects have been arrested.
From May to August 2021, the Cyberspace Administration of China, together with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, organized and carried out centralized governance of the camera voyeur industry nationwide. Handled more than 30,000 pieces of harmful information, more than 5,600 illegal accounts, removed more than 3,000 illegal products, interviewed 14 video surveillance mobile Internet application manufacturers, investigated more than 700 enterprise network cameras, and dealt with more than 90 potential security hazards.
Online publicity and education on the rule of law has reached a new level
The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) has successively planned and launched brand activities such as "National Internet Information Law Popularization on Campus" and "National Internet Law Popularization Campaign", with the number of online visits exceeding 4.2 billion.
International exchanges and cooperation on the rule of law on the Internet have opened up new horizons
From March to June 2022, the mainland and 75 other countries participated in Operation Dawn, dismantling 1,770 fraud dens in many countries, arresting more than 2,000 criminal suspects and intercepting more than US$5,000 in illegal funds.
