01 Policy Introduction

The school fully respects students' right to choose their majors independently and promotes students' individualized development. In the large-scale enrollment and training, students actually choose more majors and have more opportunities. Xidian also felt that the opportunities given to students were not enough, so students who entered the school had 3 opportunities to choose their majors:

(1) Selection of various pilot classes for admission to the school: excellent class, top-notch class, education reform class, various characteristic experimental classes, etc., according to the entrance examination, through the selection of the pilot class, students determine the major to be cultivated in the future. (Note: The selection time for some pilot classes is after the end of the freshman year)

(2) Classification at the end of the second semester: According to the overall results of the first semester and the first year, students can choose the corresponding majors within the category.

(3) After the major stream, there is still an opportunity to change majors at the end of the second academic year: there are requirements for transfer, and the receiving college will adjust a certain proportion according to the student-teacher ratio, etc., with specific reference to the requirements for transferring to the college.

Catalogue of major categories and requirements for elective subjects

This year, the school will continue to recruit students from all over the country, with general education and professional basic education as the core, and implement the training of students in major categories, so as to enhance students' sense of social responsibility, innovative spirit and practical ability. Since the implementation of large-category enrollment in 2020, we have continuously optimized and adjusted the disciplines and majors, and formed a "15+5+3" large-category enrollment pattern in 2024, that is, 15 enrollment categories, 5 special majors and 3 experimental classes.
