The two children are cheerful and lively, smart and cute, very polite, neat and refreshing, which shows that the family takes care of them very carefully.
It was the two mothers who really touched my heartstrings. The two mothers of deaf and mute children are full-time mothers, both of whom gave up their careers for the rehabilitation of their children, threw themselves into their children, gave up everything for their children, had no regrets, and carried the children's dreams and future with their weak shoulders.
Four-year-old Xiaoxi, the only child of his parents, had surgery for an intestinal obstruction shortly after birth, which delayed his hearing screening. When it was the age to learn to speak, Xiaoxi's mother discovered the child's abnormality and brought it to the hospital for examination, which made Xiaoxi's mother break her liver and intestines, how could such a lovely daughter be a deaf and dumb child? She fell into deep self-blame, could it be that she contracted hives during pregnancy and took medication, which caused the child's hearing loss? She resolutely gave up her career and future, resigned and went home to accompany and take care of her children. The long tossing and turning of treatment and language rehabilitation is faced with disappointment again and again and thousands of repetitions, which requires patience and tolerance, and enduring loneliness and pain is unimaginable to ordinary people; The cost of installing a cochlear implant is hundreds of thousands, and it is difficult to rely on Xiaoxi's father alone, and there are elderly people in both families to take care of. The young mother was thrifty and frugal, and she never gave up on the child's recovery, and finally there was the bird-like chirping and cute brook we see today.
Five-year-old Cortana, the second girl in the family, is a less valued existence for rural families. It wasn't until she was three years old that her mother, who was working outside, found that her child could only call her parents, so she took her to Nantong, Shanghai and other places for examination. Buying hearing aids, attending speech rehabilitation classes, and installing cochlear implants almost bankrupt. The mother and daughter spent 2,000 yuan a month to rent a small room of about 7 or 8 square meters on the first floor, a small bed occupies most of the space, a small balcony is placed with pots and pans, and a pile of packaging cartons is prominently placed next to the door.
