The dial of the new All-Calendar Moon Phase features an elegant blue hue that contrasts with the black ceramic elements. The use of cutting-edge ceramic technology has taken the Bathyscaphe family of submersibles to a whole new dimension and height. Thanks to its unique properties, ceramic is the ideal material for this urban-inspired watch family, and the high-tech ceramic bracelet is making its debut for the first time.
Durable, highly scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic, ceramic is almost 5 times harder than stainless steel (stainless steel) but 25% lighter. The excellent properties of ceramics are undoubted, but the further processing of ceramics at the stage of Haute Horlogerie, especially in the fine polishing process, is quite complex. In addition to the fact that the volume is reduced by 25% at high temperatures above 1400°C and the diamond tools that are used to process it, the satin-brushed process is a delicate process that requires meticulous attention from the watchmaker.
