FAW Toyota officially announced that the new Toyota Asia Dragon has been officially mass-produced off the assembly line, which means that it is one step closer to the official launch. The car has previously completed the declaration work of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the appearance still maintains the style of the Asian Dragon, mainly adjusting the interior and configuration, and at the same time adding a 2.0L petrol-electric hybrid version to provide consumers with richer choices.
Judging from the declaration map, the appearance of the new Asian Dragon has not changed much, it continues to be equipped with a polygonal large-mouth grille, and can choose different styles of dot matrix chrome grille, which has a strong visual impact, and the left and right sides are still flat headlight groups, but the curved daytime running lights are added to the lamp cavity, which is more exquisite. The lower longitudinal air intakes enhance the sporty character and give the entire front end a more layered look.
There is basically no change on the side of the body, with smooth and atmospheric body lines, a low-lying and swooping sports attitude, supplemented by chrome window edging and large silver wheels, taking into account both sport and luxury. In terms of dimensions, the length, width and height of the new car are 4990/1850/1450mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2870mm, which is the same as the current model.
At the rear of the car, the through-type taillight cluster has a special embossed design, and the Asian dragon letter logo is not forgotten in the middle, which brings good recognition. At the end of the boot is a slightly upturned rear wing, while the rear bumper is decorated with simple black accents and red reflective strips, which are in keeping with the overall style.
The interior part is the focus of adjustment, and the three-spoke steering wheel with a new shape has been replaced, the buttons on the spokes have been adjusted, the oblique central control screen has also been optimized, and the silver physical buttons below have been canceled and modified to touch buttons, and the black edge of the screen has become narrower, and the display effect has been further improved. In addition, judging from the navigation interface of the car machine system, the new Asian Dragon may have a new UI design. In addition, details such as the centre console and armrest box have been added with more leather upholstery and chrome trim strips to further enhance the sense of luxury.
In terms of power, the new car has been declared by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in three power versions, and a new 2.0L diesel-electric hybrid version has been added, with a maximum engine power of 112 kilowatts, or the same powertrain as the all-new Camry. The other two engines have a slight reduction in power compared to the current model, with the 2.0-liter pure fuel version having a maximum power of 127 kW and the 2.5-liter hybrid version having a maximum power of 136 kW.
It is worth mentioning that in order to make way for the new car, the current Asian Dragon has a very considerable discount margin in the terminal, and the general discount in various regions of the country is more than 40,000 yuan, even compared with the independent brand, it also has a good cost performance.
