The Penglai Ancient Ship Museum is a thematic museum that displays the Oriental Maritime Silk Road, which not only displays a number of ancient ships, but also treasures many ancient ship models. They are not only masterpieces of art, but also re-enactments of history. In order to make these ship models more vividly show the history of the development of China's shipbuilding industry, recently, the Ancient Ship Museum has carried out an overall restoration of the ship models in the shipbuilding history hall.
The scenic spot invited two teachers, Li Min and Li Xiangru, the inheritors of the intangible cultural heritage of the ancient ship restoration, to restore each ship model. During the restoration, they used ancient carpentry techniques, from broken sails to broken components, carefully carving every piece of wood, so that the model not only has a historical charm, but also shows the beauty of exquisite craftsmanship.
The ship model is not only a static display, but also a bridge connecting the past and the present. The restored ship model vividly reproduces the development history of ancient Chinese boats, and everyone is welcome to walk into the Ancient Ship Museum to learn about the rich and colorful types of ships and feel the charm of ancient shipbuilding technology.
