On February 19, 2024, the second working day after the Spring Festival, I came to the Xiangjing Railway Project. Just in time for the rain and snow in the Xiangyang area, the temperature plummeted, I hurriedly changed from a jacket back to a thick down jacket, and the air conditioner in the country hotel was humming at night, but it was still very cold in the house.

On those days, we would enjoy the snowy scenery of the New Year, and then carefully go to the street to taste a bowl of Xiangyang beef noodles. On February 24, the sun finally came out. The happiest thing for the engineers is to have such good weather. The project department immediately organized personnel to break the ice and remove snow to create conditions for the resumption of work after the holiday. It was still cold on the construction site, the road was slippery, and the off-road vehicles struggled to pass through the sidewalks with their butts......

The good weather for several days melted the remaining snow on the ground and took away the moisture from the roads. The excavators began to wave their powerful arms, the transporters ran happily with the subgrade filler, and the workers placed the frame models on the slope protection of the trenches...... The 5th section of the roadbed of the project is located on the girder passage, which is a "roadblock" that affects the construction of the girder. We went out in the morning and came back in the evening, running the yard and the site, trying every means to ensure the supply of materials. Fog, rain and snow, equipment failure, manufacturer safety inspection, road repair, inspection ...... Too much interference affects the speed of material entry and filling. How many dark nights, I was awakened by the sound of rain outside the window, and wrote a limerick poem: "Dreaming of listening to the sound of wind and rain outside the house, worrying that the road is slippery and difficult to feed." Lighting the lamp, wearing clothes and pushing the window to see, the eyes are full of darkness and the rooster crows. "Once, we stayed on the construction site for a day until around 7 p.m. before we went to a nearby town to find food. I asked a few restaurants, either the chef went to play mahjong, or I went to rest, and I wanted to go back to the Lidao community where the project is located to eat, but the road was too far, so I finally found a store with lights on, and quickly bought instant noodles to take back. I soaked the two dough cakes together, and I felt like I couldn't finish them halfway through eating, but I still followed the ancestral motto of "no leftovers", ate them cleanly, and never wanted to eat instant noodles again.

The construction time of the Xiangjing Railway has become extremely tight due to the early construction schedule. "Xiangjing three standards and twenty bridges, seven bays, three chongs and one Kangzi, two concaves, two rivers and two ancestral halls, and the Liujia suspension bridge spans Haoji." It is we who have made it smooth for the project department, and it also fully reflects the number of unit constructions of the project. The bridge is still good, and the construction of the roadbed really affects the progress of the girder. Although we have successfully completed the construction task of the 6th section of the roadbed before the festival, and the construction of the bridge pile foundation has been cleared, the remaining engineering tasks are still arduous. After the holiday, the company's working group came, and the working group of the group company also came, and the small place of Li Yuan was "stormy" for a while, and the entire project department was also filled with a tense atmosphere like dark clouds and a siege by an army.

How to pass the 4th section of the roadbed? At a loss, there is good news. The leader decided to adjust the sequence of the bridge erecting frame girder, and the bridge erecting machine turned around in front of the 4th section of the roadbed, erected a 50-hole beam in the direction of the large mileage, and then turned back through the 4th section of the roadbed. However, although such an adjustment has bought time for the 4th section of the roadbed, it has also put pressure on the 12th section of the roadbed. As a result, our main battlefield has shifted from the 5th section of the roadbed to the 12th section of the roadbed.

The 12th section of the roadbed is located near the beam field, which is a 40-minute drive from the project department, and it is again to go out in the morning and come back in the evening. At noon, when the workers went back to eat, a truckload of materials came in. I was directing the unloading of the truck and checking the bills. In order to save time, sometimes I take a ride to a nearby town to buy a fried noodles to fill my stomach, and sometimes I take a pickup truck to Ssangyong Workshop for lunch. After more than a week of perseverance and hard work, the supply of materials is sufficient, and the progress of filling has been greatly improved.

Maybe it's because I've been on the scene for days, maybe I've drunk less water, maybe I've inhaled dust...... My throat started to run dry and itchy. I bought lozenges and then medicine, but it didn't work. Coughing worse at night and often waking up in the middle of the night. After three days of continuous infusion, the liquid still did not improve, and two more atomizations were done, but the effect was still not obvious.

On March 20th, it has been a full month since I came to the project. The weather was very good that day, and I walked to the project department with Chen Qingyun from the company's science and technology department. It is precisely because of this that I realized that the land of Jingchu has quietly changed—spring is coming. When passing through Deng Chong Village, you have to pass by a field and a few ponds, and as far as the eye can see, it is full of spring colors. The peach blossoms in the village are blooming, "the peach is dying, scorching its bloom"; The rape flowers in the fields are blooming, and they are golden; The willow tree by the pond pulled out new branches, "ten thousand hanging down green silk", tender green and hazy; The breeze blew a pool of clear water, and the remaining branches of the lotus root lay horizontally on the water, a mess, but the nameless wildflowers on the edge of the pond were unwilling to be lonely, blooming yellow and purple flowers, decorating the pond with spring.

The plan of the year lies in spring, which is the season of sowing seeds and the season of hope. Seeing that the remaining works on the Xiangjing construction site have been fully started, with the roar of machinery and the sound of people, my mood suddenly feels relaxed, and even my cough seems to be much better.

Well, the spring of the Xiangjing Railway is coming!
