Liang Shiting, an all-media reporter from Southern Finance and Economics, reported on the scene of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel

At 3 p.m. on June 30, the no-go sign at the toll station in Cuiheng New District, Zhongshan, turned green on time, and a Guangdong-Hong Kong through bus with a license plate from Guangdong and Hong Kong slowly passed through the raised parking pole, and more than 20 passengers in the car instantly cheered. This Guangdong-Hong Kong through bus became the first vehicle to enter the highway from the Zhongshan side after the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor.

Under the guidance of four road administration vehicles, the social vehicles that had been waiting for a long time finally drove into the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage. 11 minutes later, the traffic on both sides ushered in the first "meeting" on the Shenzhong Bridge; 20 minutes later, the Guangdong-Hong Kong through bus drove out of the Shenzhen Xixiang toll station, and the "half-hour traffic circle" between Shenzhen and Zhongshan really came into reality.

At this time, the map app was also officially updated to show that the recommended route from Zhongshan Ma'an Island to Qianhai Bay is to connect to the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Yanjiang Expressway through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage, which takes 34 minutes, which is about one and a half hours less than bypassing the Humen Bridge.

"We have been at the entrance of the toll booth since 10 a.m., waiting for the opening of traffic." Li Lixin, the driver of the Guangdong-Hong Kong direct bus, has been serving the Guangdong-Hong Kong direct bus for 20 years, and after the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, he has also ushered in a new journey.

In the past, from Zhongshan to Hong Kong, the Guangdong-Hong Kong direct bus needed to take the Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Line Expressway, cross the Nansha Bridge, and then take the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Yangtze River Expressway to Hong Kong in the south, and the 180-kilometer journey took about 3 hours. After the opening, the Guangdong-Hong Kong direct bus line has also been adjusted to run through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, and Zhongshan can reach the urban area of Hong Kong within 2 hours.

"We have made a lot of preparations for the opening of the new line, which will facilitate the point-to-point service for our passengers in the Greater Bay Area, and in the future, our passengers will have a more convenient, enjoyable and comfortable trip through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor." Li Lixin said.

Because of the weekend, Mr. Chen, who returned to Zhongshan to visit relatives, deliberately followed the car to experience. "I have been looking forward to the opening of the Shenzhong Passage for a long time, and it will be much more convenient to go back and forth in the future!" Mr. Chan works in Hong Kong, lives in Kaiyin New Town, Zhongshan City, and has a wife and children, and used to return to Zhongshan every two weeks to visit relatives. "In the past, it took at least three or four hours to get there by car, and every time I got home, I was very tired. After the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Channel, the frequency of returning to Zhongshan will definitely be more in the future. Mr. Chen said.

On this train, most of the people who live and work in Zhongshan and Hong Kong are on the bus.

Luo Chengzhen, general manager of Guangdong-Hong Kong Motor Transport Joint Venture Co., Ltd., said that there are a total of 9 routes between western Guangdong and Hong Kong, and all 92 flights will pass through the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, which will further facilitate the travel of the public. In addition, the Guangdong-Hong Kong through bus has also added new stations in Shaxi and East Districts of Zhongshan City, and the Zhongshan-Hong Kong line has been encrypted from the original 18 flights per day to 26 flights, connecting various towns and streets in Zhongshan, making it convenient for passengers to travel between Guangdong and Hong Kong.

After seven years of construction, as a strategic channel connecting the east and west banks of the Pearl River Estuary in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor has become a reality. Many residents in both places are hoping to try the "head soup" on the first day of opening.

The Southern Finance and Economics all-media reporter saw at the scene that by two o'clock in the afternoon, the vehicles queuing up to enter the Cuihengdong toll station of the Shenzhong Passage had been congested to the intersection of Future Avenue, and the congested road section was nearly one kilometer long, mainly vehicles from Zhongshan and Shenzhen.

Due to the influx of a large number of vehicles, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Passage has also caused a situation of "traffic jam when opened".

At four o'clock in the afternoon, the entrance of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Yangtze River Expressway connecting the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor was seriously congested, and the map APP showed that the queuing time at the entrance was 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the passage time of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor exceeded two hours.

"There are too many cars in the queue, far more than I imagined." Mr. Che advocated that he came to Zhongshan to work on the weekend and planned to try the new passage by the way, but he said that the traffic jam at the site was serious and needed to be more effective.

The relevant person in charge of the Guangdong Provincial Transportation Group told the Southern Finance and Economics all-media reporter that the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor was opened for two hours, and the two-way traffic exceeded 16,000 vehicles.

The relevant person in charge of the Comprehensive Planning Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Transportation Bureau previously estimated that after the opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, the traffic flow will be about 80,000-100,000 pcu/d. In 2023, the average daily toll traffic of the Humen Bridge will be 103,000 vehicles, and the average daily income will be 2.8255 million yuan.
