The new design language enhances the appearance of the fourth-generation Sport Utility Vehicle (SAV) and exudes a sporty and elegant atmosphere. High-quality materials, a wider range of standard equipment, advanced digitalization and the new BMW iDrive and QuickSelect based on the BMW Operating System 9 create an upscale atmosphere for the state-of-the-art cabin. The driving pleasure, safety and long-distance comfort of the new BMW X3 are also due to extremely precise tuning of the overall vehicle set-up and a wide range of semi-autonomous driving and parking systems.

The new BMW X3 has a rich model lineup with significant improvements in efficiency and dynamics. The powertrain portfolio includes not only high-efficiency petrol and diesel engines, but also the latest generation of plug-in hybrid powertrains, which enable the new BMW X3 30e xDrive to achieve an electric range of 81 – 90 km (50 – 56 miles) in a WLTP cycle.

The modernity and enhanced product content of the new model form the ideal basis for continuing the success story of the BMW X3, which began 20 years ago. Since it was first established in the premium midsize SAV segment, it has been driving a steady increase in the popularity of the BMW X model, becoming the brand's best-selling model in 2023.

The new BMW X3 will be produced at the BMW Group's Spartanburg plant (USA) and Rosslyn plant (South Africa) using a production process that focuses on resource conservation and recycling. Its market launch will begin in Europe and the United States in the fourth quarter of 2024, with numerous other markets starting in January 2025.

The drive system of the BMW X3 30e xDrive plug-in hybrid consists of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor integrated into an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox. Together, they produce a system output of up to 220 kW/299 hp.

With the latest generation of BMW eDrive technology and an adaptive energy recuperation system, the new BMW X3 30e xDrive achieves an electric range of 81 – 90 km (50 – 56 miles) in the WLTP cycle, which is much longer than its predecessor. Its combined charging unit enables standard AC charging of 11 kW. This plug-in hybrid model also comes with a connected home charging option for smart charging.
