In order to effectively solve the supply of raw ore and resolve the risk of "stuck neck", since 2010, Yahua Group, together with Central South University, Southwest University of Science and Technology and other units, has developed a series of new agents, new technologies and new processes that match the resource endowment after more than 10 years of scientific and technological research, aiming at the problem of flotation and separation of typical strategic metals such as titanium, lithium, copper, cobalt, etc., which effectively solves the problem of difficult efficient flotation and enrichment of ilmenite ore in Panxi area and low average recovery rate of spodumene ore in Sichuan-Tibet area, resulting in serious resource waste. The successful application and promotion of this technology have greatly improved the ilmenite resources in Panxi and the average recovery rate of spodumene in Sichuan-Tibet area, and at the same time, it has been popularized and applied in large-scale lithium mines in western Sichuan, effectively alleviating the problem of lack of domestic lithium resources.
According to statistics, since 2016, a total of 4 scientific and technological achievements in our city have won the second prize of the National Science and Technology Award, and 149 have won the Provincial Science and Technology Award, ranking third in the province in terms of the total number of awards.

The number of high-tech enterprises in the city has increased from 23 in the 13th Five-Year Plan to 87 in 2023, the operating income has increased from 7.2 billion yuan to 25 billion yuan, and the number of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises has increased from 35 to 130.
The achievements of scientific and technological innovation have been continuously deepened. Since the "13th Five-Year Plan", the city has organized and declared more than 290 science and technology projects at or above the provincial level, with a capital of 140 million yuan, and implemented 280 municipal science and technology projects with an investment of 60 million yuan, driving enterprises to invest 520 million yuan and generating economic benefits of 7.52 billion yuan.
